Chipper Jones will be enshrined in the Baseball Hall of Fame in July, but hes not keeping his public statements to just baseball. The former Atlanta Braves third baseman and avid hunter shared his thoughts on gun control with the Atlanta Journal-Constitution on Sunday and it wont surprise you to find out that he has some strong opinions but not the one you might think.

That’s great, Chipper. Could you pass the dipper?
Don’t know-running for office?
Never heard of running for office. Is he related to Fauxcahontas?
I’ll listen to anything this guy has to say about baseball. What a stud in his prime. Man, I liked to watch him play. But, anything he has to say about the subject mentioned, he can just kiss my arse.. No thanks.
I am micro-aggressed that a great but dumb baseball player expressed dumb opinions. This grave outrage should not stand.
Freegards
Happens daily. I think we should just give them all the silent treatment when they voice their political views. Plain and simple. We watch them for entertainment, not for their political point of view. Chipper Jones was a great baseball player. I admire what he did on the field but couldn’t care less about his opinions on assault rifles. He can KMA on this subject. That said, I would gladly to talk baseball with him any day....
For all you baseball fans, here are Larry Wayne “Chipper” Jones Jr’s lifetime stats(plus 300 lifetime BA): https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/j/jonesch06.shtml
I asked him...what the difference is in a .308 hunting rifle..from an AR-15..in .308?
He kinda didn't want to answer...but repeated that the AR's were meant to kill people.
I gave up...and walked out.
Cr@p, I want one of these AR-15 haters to go up to someone carrying one and wrench it out of his hands.
Put some teeth in your belief, you gungrabbing b!tch.
Ill listen to anything this guy has to say about baseball. What a stud in his prime. Man, I liked to watch him play. But, anything he has to say about the subject mentioned, he can just kiss my arse.. No thanks.

I was never a Braves fan...But, I have to say that Chipper had been an excellent player...I guess he belongs in the Hall of Fame...
But, his views on so-called assault rifles...I really don’t care about them...Whatever...
I am more concerned about assult knives and assult staple guns.
I believe it Is necessary to protect the plate with a 3/2 count, Haiku Guy said. But I do not believe there is any need to choke up on the bat. I just dont.
I would like to see something (new rules of Baseball) happen. I liken it to drugs youre not going to get rid of all the strikeouts. But choked up bats and shortened swings - and all this kind of stuff they belong in the All Star Game. Those belong in the hands of people who know how to operate them, and whose lives depend on them operating them. Not with regular players. I play Beer League Softball, and have been playing since Little League, so my opinion is totally valid, and everybody should listen to me.
Reporter: Chipper Jones agrees with me on Gun Control, so he is an expert with keen insight and his opinion on this topic is totally valid. Chipper Jones disagrees with me on school discipline, so he is a fool who lacks credentials who should be ignored.
Ray Chapman got beaned in the head during a game and died. Chipper, if we can save one life, it might be worth banning assault baseballs.
To all those who use FR but donate nothing - stop being pantywaist hypocrites and start acting like the conservatives you claim to be.
The old adage that "Actions speak louder than words" comes to mind....
You beat me to it. :-)
Not to confuse Chipper with the facts but Ar15’s are not assault rifles and are not used by the military. And it ain’t up to Chipper to decide whether I get to have my AK 74 or not.
