It seems the mass murderer in Florida did not use magazines of a capacity over 10 rounds. This presents a minor difficulty for those who want to ban magazines over 10 rounds.
The “weapon and bullets were not high quality and were breaking apart,” one of the legislators, state Sen. Lauren Book, D-Plantation, told the Herald.
Cruz went in with only 10-round magazines because larger clips would not fit in his duffel bag, Book said.
Given the general ignorance of reporters on firearms technology, and of Democrats in general, I would not rely on this information until we have corroboration. Democrat Representative Lauren Book seems to have experience with child abuse and anorexia (she has written two books).
The only expertise she has exhibited about firearms is that she sponsored a bill to punish parents if a minor obtained a firearm that was not locked up. The bill would have applied the same rules to BB guns or air guns.
We should know soon if only 10 round magazines were used. The use of 10 round magazines undercuts the drive to outlaw magazines of higher capacity.
Debaters are always able to manufacture hypothetical situations that support their position. Marco Rubio is supposed to have said that the use of 10 round magazines supported the need to ban magazines that hold more rounds.
The reason? Because the mass murder would have been even worse with magazines with greater capacity! From time.com:

Yeah, they have no idea what they are talking about, so there’s no reason to believe the 10 round magazine story.
The 1966 Mass Murder at the Bell Tower in University of Texas at Austin by Charles Whitman, was done with a Remington 700 ADL using 6mm rounds. The rifle was a single shot bolt action with a 3 round fixed capacity magazine.
Whitman managed to kill 14 and wound another 31.
The only reason there weren’t more dead and wounded was that other students from the university went to their dorms and brought back their own guns. Students provided suppressing fire from the ground with small weapons and hunting rifles and kept Whitman from poking his head up for more shots. This allowed the police to enter the tower from a basement tunnel and sneak up on him where they were able to shoot and kill him.
Watched a video by David Knight showing an interview with a coach or teacher that survived being shot at. He said the gun man was wearing a mask...second teacher to say that. and that the school admin. said that they would be having a drill firing blanks that day. Where have we heard that before?
Will someone explain to me why anyone trusts the authorities here. Who positively can ID Cruz as the shooter? No One!!!!!
