Enjoy.

Back when a song could be a hit without a “rap break.”
The beat to this song does put most rap songs to shame...
It’s a good one.
Orinoco Flow was a VH1 hit. It got very little radio play.
That ethereal song prompted me to buy one of the Pure Moods soundtracks back in the day (remember those). I ended up buying all of the albums in that series, and then many of the albums from which the individual tracks were taken to make the compilation.
I discovered many so-called “new age” artists that I enjoy to this day. Enya, Loreena McKennitt, Cusco, Adiemus, Mythos, Enigma...and on and on.
Even though it is apparently going away, the compact disc like vinyl before it was great for showcase compilations that allowed for discovery of new artists. I guess YouTube will take that role.
Thank you!!!
UK singles #1, Billboard Hot 100 #24, Billboard Adult Contemporary #7. Had a fairly spectacular run.
Celtic Woman version sounds really close to this one
I heard it in the radio a lot. To the point of getting sick of it. You were just listening to the wrong stations.
I wonder if the orinoco is a major escape route for venezuelans now.
Just last weekend pulled that tune out of you tube to hear it once again. The cold snap was somewhat warmed in hearing these songs.....

Ha! I was a radio DJ at that time. You thought YOU were sick of it! I wanted to be playing the new Tom Petty!
It’s a very cool tune, though. I have a new appreciation for the tunes on “hot rotation” back then, that I grew to dislike just because I had to play them so much!
.
I like it. Anywhere Is is still my favorite to listen to when walking around the lake though.
girl genius
This song hooked me to her music. In my opinion she makes the most beautiful compositions of any modern artist. For strictly moid enhancing i listen to Liquid Mind.
I wasn’t a New Age music listener and only ever heard Orinoco Flow over store speakers at the grocery store. It drove me crazy until finally finding and purchasing the CD. I love her stuff.
Orinoco Flow is the only 80’s tune I ever fell in love with. The original Enya video is a thing of beauty. Thank whoever for bringing it up once more.
