Back when a song could be a hit without a “rap break.”

That ethereal song prompted me to buy one of the Pure Moods soundtracks back in the day (remember those). I ended up buying all of the albums in that series, and then many of the albums from which the individual tracks were taken to make the compilation.

I discovered many so-called “new age” artists that I enjoy to this day. Enya, Loreena McKennitt, Cusco, Adiemus, Mythos, Enigma...and on and on.

Even though it is apparently going away, the compact disc like vinyl before it was great for showcase compilations that allowed for discovery of new artists. I guess YouTube will take that role.

I like it. Anywhere Is is still my favorite to listen to when walking around the lake though.

This song hooked me to her music. In my opinion she makes the most beautiful compositions of any modern artist. For strictly moid enhancing i listen to Liquid Mind.

I love her music. It is my preferred relaxation music when I want to lay in my hammock with a beer and unwind.

I think one of her most interesting and underrated songs is "Evacuee" which she apparently wrote after watching a documentary about the Blitz in WWII where they evacuated children from London to the countryside.:

EVACUEE
Each time on my leaving home
I run back to my mother's arms,
One last hold and then it's over.

Watching me, you know I cry,
You wave a kiss to say goodbye,
Feel the sky fall down upon me!

All I am, a child with promises
All I have, are miles full of promises of home.

If only I could stay with you,
My train moves on, you're gone from view,
Now I must wait until it's over.

Days will pass, your words to me,
It seems so long; eternity,
But I must wait until it's over.

Back in 1998 when most of us were still on dial-up AOL as our internet access, and some of us were curious about how to code webpages, we would view the source code of pages, study it, figure out the code (easy HTML tags) and then make our own pages about silly, inane stuff that interested us. As we experimented and tried to out-do our friends, we learned more and more. I remember when one day I figured out how to add sound to my page and went searching for just the right song. Found it.... Enya's Fairytale

I have since loved that tune, and love Enya's music.
