The former FBI agent who announced his retirement from the federal agency in a New York Times column Friday after claiming the relentless attacks on the bureau made it impossible to continue working there, promptly received a CNN job as a law enforcement analyst in less than 48 hours.
Josh Campbell, who until a few hours ago, billed himself on his Twitter account as an assistant to former FBI Director James Comey (he has since deleted this fact from his bio), debuted on CNN Monday. The author section of his NYT column also notes that he served as special assistant to the bureaus director.
It remains unclear why Campbell has decided to remove this information from his account, but Comey did share his Times column on Twitter Friday and said Campbells voice is an important addition to the national conversation. The hat tip signals a relationship between the two men and possible knowledge of Campbells new role as a cable news pundit.
The quick transition from FBI agent to on-air contributor raises questions about Campbells relationship with the network. The cable news network has relied on anonymous sources within the federal law enforcement agency during the Trump administration.

Cant wait to see this breaking news. CNN reporter arrested for collusion and Rico violations.
Only fags and democrats talk like this.
Why is the party here in LA?
Oh, boy. Another Deep-Stater takes up a job with the enemedia.
Stealing that. :)
And it's twin brother, ass-kissery.
I would not wipe with his “credentials”.
The Deep State-DemonRAT-media cabal continues.
That and the whole “back patio” in quotes thing. I wonder if they will be serving “pizza”?
I don’t know how FBI guys are supposed to be but this
guy comes across like a weak sister (so sue me if you
are an offended weak sister). It seems like an FBI
agent would be more mentally tough, this Campbell
is chicken noodle soup. Yah, he may be liberal but
he knows how not to come across like one if he wants
to. He wants to please his new employers and I bet
he knows some shit that he thinks he can keep secret
awayfrom the FBI seventh floor. Where’s Efren Zimbalist Jr
when we need him?
The new face of the FBI: Pajama Boy.
HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN FIRED WITH COMEY!
The "Bureau" is unto themselves and should be abolished.
The fact that the “Bureau” feels that it needs “defending” by CNN is the biggest tell in the world.

Good point.
Disgusting little twerp. A postcard for what is wrong in the FBI.
How queer that the same media that lauds the Watergate investigation (and ignores crooked Hillary’s history in it) doesn’t share the info that Deep Throat is the guy who screwed up the Weather Underground case and is why Bill Ayers admits to being guilty as sin yet free as a bird (allegedly his ‘rights’ were violated in the investigation).
And the same prestitutes who red-bait and say that anyone who does not agree with them in the coverage of the Trump investigation is a Putin loving traitor thought it horrific that the loyalty of card carrying Communists in the USA was questioned in the 40s, 50s, and 60s even though they were coordinating with KGB agents and front groups to plan riots and worse in the US.
They also think it is unkind to question the actions of the FIB while they proclaim that J. Edgar Hoover was a power mad drag queen and still spit daily upon G. Gordon Liddy.
CNN covered up torture, abuse, and murder under Saddam Hussein to keep their Baghdad bureau. What is CNN covering up for friendly access with the FIB?
I assure you that he never saw the flyer before it went out. It was probably generated by an office assistant, intern or somebody who barely knows him. The person generating it probably wanted to get across that he wasn’t fired and that his leaving has something positive in it for him and the FBI. Hence the defending the FBI statement.
The interesting aspect is how quickly it was sent to a news organization. There is somebody at the FBI who is really angry with the guy.
Rats disguising them selves as "Journalist" so when the DOJ comes to arrest them,
the collective media will go thermal screaming about Trump's assault on the First Amendment by imprisoning journalist.
They’ve also had some real distinguished personnel, like Robert Hanssen and Lon Horiuchi.
I take exception the part that says “protecting the Bureau”. Is that what the primary job for an FBI employee to be doing, is to protect the Bureau? Sounds like something from a mafia family.
