Vice President Pence did something unthinkable in Jerusalem last week: he referenced the bible in support of Israels right to exist.
The Jewish people held fast to a promise through all the ages, written so long ago, that even if you have been banished to the most distant land under the heavens, from there He would gather and bring you back to the land which your fathers possessed.
Few politicians today, and probably not any in Western Europe, would express themselves in similar terms. Moderns can reverence Marx, Lenin, and Marcuse with impunity, but not Moses. But as Orwell stated, The most effective way to destroy people is to deny and obliterate their own understanding of their history.
Debunking the bible is only a slow-acting poison for the cultures of most western nations; but for Israel it is critical.

There was a time when referencing the Bible in a speech was a sign of a good, thorough education. In addition to a smattering of Latin quotes, a Shakespearean limerick, or a foreign language quote would make the listeners feel they were listening to something special, a.k. Kennedy’s berliner speech.
Now you have to quote a rap star or some other reprobate to get attention.

I recently heard an Orthodox rabbi explain that Jews are the most vocal opponents of the idea of the Bible supporting the State of Israel.
“Thus says the Lord, who gives the sun for a light by day, the ordinances of the moon and the stars for a light by night, who disturbs the sea, and its waves roar (The Lord of hosts is His name): ‘If those ordinances depart from before Me, says the Lord, then the seed of Israel shall also cease from being a nation before Me forever.’”

I get zero redirects or pop-ups on that site. Which might be because I take a different route over the Internet to get there, or it might be because of the guards I have in place.
I'm running a customizable pop-up and redirect blocking add-on called uBlock Origin ...
... which is a little "techie" but not terribly so. Ublock Origin is available for Firefox and Chrome browsers with "unofficial" versions available for Safari and MS Edge (I'm using it on FF). Some pop-ups will still spawn a new window but the new window will be empty, so it can't deliver any malware.
Since some web sites won't give you full access to their content if they detect that your browser has an active pop-up blocker, I also run a script called Anti-Adblock Killer ...
https://reek.github.io/anti-adblock-killer/
However, the browser needs an add-on called a "script manager" installed to run the script on. The two most popular ones are GreaseMonkey and TamperMonkey.
http://www.greasespot.net/
https://tampermonkey.net/
The Anti-Adblock Killer script runs equally well on either script manager add-on.
To clarify, the uBlock Origin is all you need to dramatically reduce the number of pop-ups (and it imposes less of a burden on the system than any other ad blocker I've used). But also installing a script manager and the Anti-Adblock Killer script will reduce the number of websites that will limit your access to their content because you're running an ad blocker.

Ironic that the writer uses the conventional pseudochronology of Egypt, which was in large part designed to debunk the entire Old Testament. One of *those* topics.
