New Jersey -(Ammoland.com)- With the take over of the New Jersey Governors office by rabid gun banning Democrat, Phil Murphy, the first attack on NJ gun owners rights and property, of what will be many, has been launched. The proposed bill would ban most all the rifles and shotguns you currently own and legally bought under the current NJ laws.
Sponsored by state senator Senator Nia H. Gill this bill would strengthen the States current assault weapons ban by revising the definition of an assault weapon to include: rifles with detachable magazines and one military style feature; semi-automatic shotguns with one military style feature; and semi-automatic pistols with one military style feature.
You can read the bill here:
The current definition of an assault weapon sets forth a list of prohibited firearms and specifically includes any firearm that is substantially identical to any of the enumerated firearms. Under State regulations, a semi-automatic firearm is to be considered substantially identical to an enumerated firearm if it meets certain criteria. This bill codifies these regulations while expanding the number of firearms that would be considered assault weapons by adding criteria and reducing the number of criteria that must be met from two to one. For example, under current regulations, a semi-automatic rifle that has the ability to accept a detachable magazine and has at least two listed criteria would be considered an assault weapon.
These criteria include:
-a folding telescoping stock,
-a pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon;
-a flash suppressor or threaded barrel designed to accommodate a flash suppressor;

“Despite having a 2nd Amendment friendly President, gun-grabbing liberals are maintaining their all out war to seize your guns.”
Why wouldn’t they? There are no consequences to them. We don’t riot in the streets, beat them, or assassinate them. No matter how whacked out they get, they are safe as kittens.
Sarcasm!
My late father in law was a Washington County,PA. detective. he told me a few times he had to drive to New Jersey to pick up a prisoner. When he arrived in NJ he had to stop at the nearest police station and turn in his weapon, and pick it up again on the way out.
“Many people here regard them as rats with hooves.”
I will certainly sign for any venison they want to send.
“When he arrived in NJ he had to stop at the nearest police station and turn in his weapon, and pick it up again on the way out.”
Wow, no wonder NJ is such a shithole. (And I’ve been calling it exactly that since the 1970s.)
Hope you have some 30 round mags sitting nearby. LOL
The Second Amendment isn't about deer. It's about politicians.
You know that and so do I.
The problem is that the Marxists within our government, know it as well.
Yes, the Marxists know it ... it’s a mistake to think of them as ignorant or stupid. The leftsiders who vote for them may be ignorant and stupid, but the politicians aren’t.
It must suck living in a sh*thole state like NJ.
That’s a fact. The price of liberty is eternal vigilance.
That said, I am well prepared to die to protect our freedom.
The question that I would ask them is are they prepared to die, in attempt to take our rights away?
***Remember the lie: no-one is coming for your guns.***
This nonsense was first proposed by Thomas J Dodd and Emanual Cellar back in 1962. The words were, “WE don’t want to take your guns away, we ONLY want to register HANDGUNS! LONG GUNS will not be affected.”
Then they called for registration of ALL firearms.
Then a ban on small foreign made handguns.
Ten a ban o domestic small handguns.
Then a ban on ALL handguns (Rifles and shotguns will not be affected).
Then a ban on certain rifles and shotguns.
And the call for bans still go on.
Forgot one. When California first proposed an “assault rifle” ban they added to it lever action rifles. This was later removed, but I believe now they are limited to ten rounds in new made rifles designed for 16 shots in 1859.
Hah! The politicians? Of course not. They're perfectly prepared to send their armed, uniformed minions to kill or die in the suppression of our liberty. They'll keep their legions of praetorian guards, though, and ride around in armored limousines, and work and live in fortified buildings. They're that important. Ask them. They may deign to answer.
Couldn’t happen to a better, more deserving state.
NJ still has a very dedicated community of shooters and hunters. The deerhunting is excellent. Sadly our small group of sane people are being shut out at the polls by urbanites, suburban gun-o-phobes,government employees(union menbers) and the legions of “free stuff” voters.
Pray for those of us stuck behind enemy lines.
This bill and the 10 round limit bill both say they take effect immediately. There is nothing in either one of them about grandfathering or allowing for a time to dispose of what has suddenly become illegal. People will become felons with Murphy’s signature.
It does. Then they move to Pennsylvania and vote for the same people.
It’s no longer the State of New Jersey, it’s the People’s Republic of New Jersey.
“Pray for those of us stuck behind enemy lines.”
I’m 40 miles from the border and my town has more NJ/NY plates in it than PA plates.
And they “want to speak to the manager” about the racist hillbilly walking around with his gun on his belt. Me.
NJ slime overflows it’s neighboring banks.
