In this scene from the the 1995 movie Clueless, Alicia Silverstone’s character talks about how horrible life in Haiti is:

Meanwhile, Joan Walsh is a “journalist” who worked for MSNBC for over a decade. She has also worked for The Nation and Salon. Earlier this month, she started working for CNN. Two days after she started working for CNN, she was asked if she’d rather live in Norway or Haiti. She answered:
“I don’t know. I don’t know. I haven’t been to either place.”
Here’s the video:

I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that Walsh actually did know the answer, but was afraid to say it due to her own political correctness.
A real “journalist” is never afraid to tell the truth. In fact, telling the truth is their entire job!
On which side DOES my ball dangle when I where my Santa hat ?
I’m sure most of us here will contemplate this in detail before answering..
Why isn’t your opinion here -

- on the thread *YOU* started?
(And that your blog has nothing to do with.)
Growing up I knew a Lebanese family with five girls, that immigrated to the U.S. via Haiti. They lived in Haiti for several years before they were admitted into the U.S. The younger kids preferred Haiti because you could have all the servants you could feed. No chores, no dishes to clean, no beds to make or floors to sweep, no lawn to mow. The servants did everything, more or less for free. So Joan Walsh may well be right, she may prefer Haiti.
One of the girls, about my age, took me to meet her aunt. Her aunt and her father owned a service station in Brooklyn, near the Federal Courthouse and Brooklyn hospital. Her aunt lived on Atlantic Avenue, and had a Haitian maid, who wore a little maid’s uniform, spoke no English, and was almost certainly an illegal kept more or less as an indentured servant by the aunt. I never informed INS because all I would have accomplished would have been to ruin the aunt’s life and the maid’s. Not every story has a happy ending.
Oh, and yes, the older girls knew full well that Haiti was a shithole, but marginally safer for Catholics than Lebanon. Don’t tell Joan Walsh, we don’t want to spoil her dreams of an otiose and leisurely life.
December 2017: MSNBC has declined to renew its contributor contract with prominent liberal commentator Joan Walsh, and many liberals including more than one MSNBC host are not happy with the decision....
MSNBC did not issue a comment or official explanation for the decision.
Walsh is the former editor of Salon and a current correspondent for The Nation. She is also the author of a book titled Whats the Matter with White People?: Finding Our Way in the Next America. She is an extremely outspoken progressive on Twitter...
My assessment assigned to this thread especially after watching (wasting) that video.
