When you reach retirement age and must go to the SS office, you will find you have to stand because the chairs are occupied by enormous women of various shades of brown with at least three children running free. They obviously are not there to claim Social Security benefits from a grateful nation after a lifetime of working. Asked why so crowded, the weary woman helping me said, “Disability.”

What a scam. One might guess they are too fat to do anything but breed more welfare recipients for the shrinking next generation of workers to support. Thanks, LBJ and every Democrat who foisted this “Great Society” crap on the rest of us. What if all of US decided to go on disability?

I filed for SS online, my interview was done over the phone in 20 minutes. My first payment was directly deposited in 10 days.

—same experience for wife and I 15 years ago in Las Vegas—

—of 60 some people in the SS office, 6 of us were Caucasians of my age (62) and the rest were mostly Hispanic or Oriental , with children in tow—

I remember my retirement visit to the SS office. While there were seats available, I think I was the only grey hair in the place. Everyone else was in his 20s or 30s claiming disability. The great part is, because I draw a teacher pension about half of my pre-teaching social security benefit is withheld. That way people who have never worked can be taken care of.

I had to go to my local SS office after my husband died. Luckily, I had an appointment. That office looked like the bar scene from Star Wars. I got in and out in less than an hour, and I hope I never have to go back! BTW — the people waiting when I got there were still waiting when I left.

When you reach retirement age and must go to the SS office ...
I live in a predominately white suburb and 7-8 years ago when I checked out my local SS office, I saw 40 people in the waiting room.
Not one was white and not one was over 40 years old.
When I asked the guard WTF he said they were all there for SSI. Unbelievable.

"....When you reach retirement age and must go to the SS office...."

Where have you been for the last two decades?

One does not have to "go" to the SS office to sign up for benefits.

I signed up in 5 minutes on the internet and received a confirmation phone call from a SS clerk the very next day.

That was the last time I ever had to "deal" with the SS office.

Having said that, the biggest problems with SS are not the retired workers who want some of their money back after paying into the system for years while they were working.

It is the frauds and phonies who are draining the system dry because of the ease with which the government awards SS disabily benefits to those who don't deserve it.
