Add me in , please
LOL! Good one!
You’re right! I only looked at 1970, not the whole DECADE. I was only 10 that year - I was too busy huntin’ squirrels with my BB Gun to listen to the radio much. ;)

LOL!
I misunderstood. I thought we were just talking about the SINGLE year, 1970. I have mended my ways! ;)

Rap antedates the seventies.
Sure, I’m in.
Those are just spoken words over music. The rap genre we now recognize was born in the 70s.

You’re in luck.
There is no Stairway in the top 7 of any year.
Not that I would mind!
If you look over http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/3249477/posts from the old ‘80s version, you’ll get the gist.
Basically, we’re using a bracket play-off system on the “top 64” songs of the decade, based on top Billboard songs of each year.
This is strictly based on Billboard rankings, so there is no subjectiveness about what should be included. We will be paring it down from a total of 70 songs (must start that way since there are 10 years, and not 8 for easy 64) to a pair of 2 that ends with the winner of #1 song from our play-offs.
It’s all about voting from amongst the songs presented. More labor-intensive at first, due to so many songs. Later we’ll have few songs/pairings so it’ll be faster and easier.
Add me in please. AM radio still ruled for the first part of the Seventies or so. Top 40 exposed listeners to anything that was hot across all genres and a lot of ‘one hit wonders’.
Well, that’s a list of “Top 100 Rock” songs, and the Jacksons were R&B, not Rock.
You can remove me, thanks.
