Many of us who have to buy some kind of cable television have avoided the overpriced, premium movie channels that rotate the same films and occasionally give you a new option you'll watch once. So we're forced to buy a basic cable package that has a very few daily go-to channels and others we have no real reason to waste our time on and that's how they get us.
Imagine how many more people would sign up for cable if they ONLY have to pay for channels and content they wanted?

All. The only thing I watch on cable is TCM and (some) Fox News. If I could stream those I would dump cable in a heartbeat.
Philo.com is my new favorite service. It has discovery, history etc but no sports or news channels. $16\month and you can Dvr shows too.
I cut the cord years ago and haven’t looked back.

I hate funding the Left.
I would like to be able to pick and choose the channels for the basic subscription and avoid subsidizing the channels I do not watch at all. That is the basic payment covering channels I never frequent and of course that would include the well known media cartel. Like food you can’t stomach and never buy, why on earth are you forced to pay for garbage on your cable bill?
