This is a dangerous stunt. Years ago after an IPSC stage guys would routinely would eject a live round and catch it in their hands before showing clear. It was a neat trick but one time someone messed up and the round was caught between the slide and the chamber. The edge of the closing slide hit the primer and set off the live round near the guy’s hand. He ended up in the emergency room.
Thanks for posting that. I do recreational shoots with my pistol - similar to the IPSC but much more relaxed. I just let my ejected rounds hit the dirt. But was thinking I should try catching it like lots of the other do.
I guess I’ll just keep my focus on the shooting. (I do very well with not missing many targets - say 2 out of 50. My speed though... I’m not the slowest, but if I could break into the upper 50% that would be nice!)
