More than three of every 10 prisoners held in federal jails are “known or suspected” illegal immigrants, a number that has shocked the administration into pushing harder for immigration reform.
New Justice Department numbers reported that 58,766 held by the Federal Bureau of Prisons and the U.S. Marshals Service are “known or suspected” illegals. Of that, the government has confirmed that 37,557 are in the U.S. illegally. The rest fall into the “suspected” category.
Overall, there are 185,507 federal prisoners.
In releasing the data, Attorney General Jeff Sessions said that the administration has been targeting illegals at the border and inside the country because they are disproportionately involved in crime, especially drug crime.
“Nearly 95 percent of confirmed aliens in our federal prisons are here illegally. We know based on sentencing data that non-citizens commit a substantially disproportionate number of drug-related offenses, which contributes to our national drug abuse crisis,” said Sessions.

Save money and trouble. Deport these illegals. It’s not like they have to be rounded up. They’re already corralled. Just ship them back to their homeland.

How very nice we are feeding and housing them all.
Save money in the long run. Remove their achilles tendons and return them to their wonderful homeland and their families.
Concerned that they will slip across the border again and cause more harm.

Deportation does not work. They come back a couple days later. I say make the prisons tougher but that would be hard with all the libs calling the shots. 6X8 cell 24 hrs a day. Food of poor quality passed into the cell.
Committing the crimes Americans won’t.

That’s 5.6 billion dollars we spend on illegals in our prison system. That’s many miles of wall that we can build.
Reopen the Soviet gulag. Siberian development. Puts a check on the Chinese.

I disagree. Deport the other 12 million or more illegals. No exceptions, except keep these particular illegals in prison for a long time before deporting them, or, if their home countries are willing, pay their countries to lock these criminals up for their full sentences. I imagine the illegals who have not yet been deported will be much more law-abiding if they fear their own prisons than if they only face our country clubs.
Put them to work making a product that the prison system can sell. Don’t they make license plates in some states? Or rent them out to farmers. Make them earn their food. No work = no food. Doesn’t Angola have their prisoners chop cotton?
Have the prisoners build the wall. No work = no food.
Implant a microchip that can easily be detected at any border crossing or by anylaw enforcement officer, and give ‘em a tattoo before deportation; if found again it’s organ donation time.
The government should deduct the cost of imprisoning illegal criminals from the foreign aid provided the home countries.
