Once you hike up the hill to where the Serra Cross is the view is magnificent. You are looking over the town of Ventura and all the way to Catalina on a clear day.
My teen granddaughter and I do it a couple of times a year just for the view.

The Thomas fire still has about 10 separate burn zones, with each being like a separate fire. The cross is near the lower left of the dark green (first day of the fire). Over 10,000 acres burned yesterday (darkest red on the map).
