U.S. Diplomat’s Resignation Signals Wider Exodus From State Department

An award-winning U.S. diplomat who was seen as a rising star at the State Department has issued a scathing resignation letter, accusing Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and the Donald Trump administration of undercutting the State Department and damaging America’s influence in the world.

Elizabeth Shackelford, who most recently served as a political officer based in Nairobi for the U.S. mission to Somalia, wrote to Tillerson that she reluctantly had decided to quit because the administration had abandoned human rights as a priority and shown disdain for the State Department’s diplomatic work, according to her letter, obtained by Foreign Policy.

She was witness to the enormous bloodletting in South Sudan that took place under Obama. And the constant warfare in Somalia under Obama. But Trump is the problem.

And then there is the debacle in Syria, in which half a million Syrians were killed in a war undertaken by Turkey and Obama’s State Department.

Departing State employees should be replaced by retiring Special Forces operatives. A lawyer replaced by a Green Beret in the prime of his life would be a good swap.

“.......the more career bureaucrats leave in a huff, the better.”..

Problem with that is the ones that should go keep hanging on to cause as much trouble as they can. I would prefer the words be said to them...”You’re Fired”

With modern IT every Federal agency can be remoted away from Washington, D.C. Doing so would cut costs tremendously across the board: infrastructure, operations, cost of living, commutes, etc.

It would also disperse centralized bureaucratic power bases, so resistance is also tremendous.

King Louis XIV of France had this figured out three centuries ago.

A whiney, swamp-dwelling byatch.

Someone needs to explain to this person - you serve at the pleasure of the President, who is elected by the people. If the USA has a unified, balanced, common culture and outlook, your job will be more secure. If, on the other hand, our politics and culture are unbalanced, with strong political bias in certain places, then balance will not exist. You should promote the former, not the latter.

The State Dept. is ground zero for the anti-American Deep State.

Can’t be said enough.

From your suggest search:

“Cheryl Mills is founder and Chief Executive Officer of the BlackIvy Group. Prior to BlackIvy, Ms. Mills served as Chief of Staff to Secretary Hillary Clinton and Counselor to the U.S. Department of State, where she managed foreign policy and operational priorities of the $55 billion agency that employs more than 20,000 officials across 180 countries. She supervised priority policy areas, including the Obama Administration’s $3.5 billion global hunger and food security initiative spanning 19 countries, 12 in Africa, and diplomacy and development efforts in Haiti. In Haiti, Ms. Mills led the implementation of an $800M public-private partnership in northern Haiti, resulting in the development of one of the largest industrial parks in the Caribbean.”

Oh my, such a target rich environment.

Just shows you, move a career ‘diplomat’ from say the Vatican to Antarctica, or appoint your brother/mother/sister etc as his/her aide or take the ‘PC ‘degenerates’’ and move them to non LGTB(etc) countries and it doesn’t take long for the others to sorta get the word.

ONE BIG PLUS out of all this is we have not heard a peep out of a POS former VN Vet who comes from a state that rhymes with ‘Ass’ for awhile.
I am sorry if even this offhanded hint resurrects the Horse(S ass) face Lib.
