vanity

Posted on 12/03/2017 5:49:15 PM PST by Fhios

World net daily is down, according to google.and according to the "Is world net daily down" place that said yup.

My real question is this, why is google reporting to my browser?

-Anybody have the IP address for WND? -How and who can I change my DNS services to somebody other than google?

Somebody at their offices probably went onto the public website and the avalanche of ads blew up their own server, LOL.

They are down, but it's not DNS:

404. That’s an error. The requested URL / was not found on this server. That’s all we know.

Within the last 15 minutes I tried going to different sites and they were not coming up. Makes me wonder if there was some major outage.

I am using this. So far no problems. The how-to is in the article. 9.9.9.9

https://www.komando.com/happening-now/431005/kims-free-security-pick-that-needs-to-be-on-all-your-devices

“There are various DNS services out there. Typically, your internet service provider automatically assigns its own default DNS server to your service but you change your system’s DNS settings to other services like Google (8.8.8.8), OpenDNS (208.67.222.222), or Dyn (216.146.35.35).

Other DNS services can also protect you from malicious websites but they usually require a monthly fee.

Free DNS service that protects you
IBM Security, Packet Clearing House and The Global Cyber Alliance have launched a free service to give you better security and privacy while accessing the internet.

It’s called the Quad9 Domain Name System (DNS) service and it is designed to protect internet users from accessing sketchy websites that are known for spreading malware, stealing personal information and fraudulent activity.

Once set as your DNS service, every time you click on a web link, Quad9 will check the site against IBM-X-Force’s threat intelligence database of over 40 billion analyzed webpages and images.”

I use Zap2It for my TV listings. Sometimes it wont update for 30-60 minutes (most likely for maintenance or to add some new ads, which are not intrusive). I Google the name and then use the site ‘Is ____ down now?’ and it’s always been accurate. It will indicate the site is down for everyone or just you.
