Starting tonight at midnight California (Amazon) time, my books will be free to download on Kindle. One title per day through all six of them, including my new counter-jihad novel The Red Cliffs of Zerhoun.

Merry Christmas, Freepers!

Ironically I just started reading "Enemies Foreign and Domestic" about two days ago. I had bought it during a similar freebie giveaway (just this one volume though) some time ago but at the time I had a big backlog of books and by the time I worked through them I forgot I had this. Going through my library I saw it and said "Oops! Gotta download and read this ASAP!"

So far I'm enjoying it. I'm still early into it and there's a good bit of "wold building" going on as we find out about this very different version of a future USA and I've found the writing to be well done. Looking forward to finishing it. Will definitely download the others.

From the socialist utopia of New Jersey, thanks for the early Christmas presents!

Sounds like some good reads!

Pardon my ignorance though. Up until now, all eBooks I've read are from Gutenberg.org & similar sites in pdf/html/text format.

However, I do have an Amazon Prime account thru 12/29 (the last Christmas gift from my dear departed Freeper sister). So I can use that to login to a PC or Android that's running this "Kindle App" ... apparently.

Question: But to read any of the Amazon Kindle free books, I must first purchase the $7.99 (or $9.99) / year "Kindle Unlimited" subscription, is that correct?

(PC Amazon site says $7.99, while Android App setup screen says $9.99 ... perhaps because I'm currently logged into the Prime acct on my PC but not Android).

I do now plan to renew the $99 annual Prime acct, because too many other family members are using it!

But do you pay for the “Kindle Unlimited” subscription, or not?

No,and I’ve had it for about 8 years.

I use BookBub and have received lots of free. or very inexpensive, books.

I bought a Kindle reader a month or so ago from Amazon for only $49. It was refurbished.

They let me pay a small charge then $12 a month. I still have 436 to go but went ahead and bought “Zerhoun”, The Bible, “It Doesn’t Take A Hero” and “Waking The Moon” simply because I love stories involving ancient Crete, Mycenae etc.

Except for “Zerhoun”, I haven’t paid more than $1.39 for a book. Lots of free ones too.

Then please do me a quick favor and verify you can download "Zerhoun" from Amazon without having to run the gauntlet of the pay-for-play demand that I keep running into from Amazon.

Thanks! I really would appreciate it.

I’ve read ALL his books and if you don’t, YOU’RE CRAZY..!

Better than early Clancy, when he really WAS writing his own stuff.

I can’t -—I wasn’t even aware that Kindle Unlimited existed-——the free books I download don’t require “Unlimited” as this link will show.

I learned something today———and sorry for the confusion.
