If you didnt know hogs are all over the state of Texas.
Over the last couple years, Ray Shinpaugh has been perfecting the art of feral hog eradication using a side-by-side, thermal monocular, shotgun, and laser to eliminate hogs with incredible efficiency.
One strategy that he uses under the cover of darkness is that him and his hunting partner use thermal optics to locate groups of feral hogs.
With the lights off, they position themselves between the pigs and any nearby cover. Once in position, they flip on the lights and drive the pigs further out in the open where they can close in on the hogs and open fire with 00 buck shot.
Each year feral hogs cause millions of dollars in damage in the form of damaged crops, contaminated water supplies, broken equipment, transmission of disease and injury to livestock. See the full footage of night hog hunt video here.
was once the same here could get in trouble for NOT shooting one...we are sure your dept of conservation will soon become as enlighten and as well run as this one. The great showme state would prefer to do all the hunting. They shorten our seasons as much as they want. Our dogs can tree all those animals...but sadly they were all lost on the lake along with all my rifles and pistols...so very sad when you loose all your hunting stuff...dang near lost me wife too...she swims well for a iowa diary farmers daughter...
Run as well as yours? I dont think so, the WIS DNR is as bad a bunch of bastards one can meet.
Its a Loooooong story.
Good luck to you.
Was the buckshot colors of the rainbow, like Skittles?
Thanks for the information. I’d like to have a Weatherby rifle but don’t own one and have never shot anything remotely like a 416 magnum.
I figured the hogs would be good eating since I like bar-b-q, bacon and sausage but don’t care for the taste of liver. As a kid, I raided the frig and got a mouthful of liver thinking it was hamburger. I spat it out; no liver since!
