I will not suggest that we have moved through the Ring Cycle and are approaching Götterdämerung, because it would elevate the Democrats too much and invite comparisons between H and Brunnhilda.
(Though noting that the Ds share a good deal in common with the scummy Wagnerian Nordic pantheon, which is led by plotting deceitful thieves who destroy themselves and the other “Gods” in their own refuge.)
