Wow, that was fun! These are people who had their entire world view rocked and simply cannot muster the courage to consider that some of its underlying premises might be mistaken. Huge emotional investment, not much in the way of reason.

For example, the idea that every Trump voter is a racist and a sexist, and they failed because they didn't realize how many racists and sexists there were in the country. Not one of them is willing to consider that the first premise might be wrong. It's easier to dip into sheer paranoia to validate it. It's funnier to watch, too.

To think that people of color and other marginalized populations are the ones that are shouldering the blame for bringing down the Democratic Party is something that is so insulting and ludicrous. Those are the ideals that we should be doubling down on.

There's another one who clings to a failed premise. Support for "marginalized" people does not need to devolve into a hate campaign for people smeared as their oppressors, which it did. See "racist and sexist" above. And one main theme of the Trump campaign was that great swathes of the American population did consider themselves marginalized, and it was at the hands of Hillary's party. Such notions were dismissed as the natural anger of racists and sexists - see above - and to be doubled down upon. They can't appear to shake the conviction that Trump voters may have had grievances too, but unlike those of the Dem voters, they were illegitimate. Until they can get over that one ideological barrier they won't have a party.
