In my experience, socialists tend to be people who simply can't accept the human condition and all the limitations that come with it. That's why you rarely ever come across a socialist who has held a responsible position in the business world where you confront these realities every day.
I believe it was Thomas Sowell who once said that socialists are people who never expect to pay a price for their failures ... which is why you find a lot of them in education and the media.

Yup—straight out of “Atlas Shrugged”. It is amazing that, about 60 years on, how absolutely on-target that book was.
