Looking to pocket carry? You need to look at these guns. A lot can be said for a gun that is concealable enough to pocket carry and go largely unnoticed. Most of the pistols on this list are very small, you wouldn’t be able to see them even if you knew where to look.
As far as stopping power, for this size, you have to have the mindset that something is better than nothing. However, these “somethings” still offer lot of firepower but not a mini-cannon. You may not be a small gun person, but these are pretty cool as a backup to the backup. (Be Prepare) Here’s our list for top 5 pocket pistols for concealed carry:
Smith and Wesson .380 Bodyguard
Smith and Wesson really did it right when they made this weapon. The laser is a great touch if you need it, and it’s so small it can literally go anywhere totally unnoticed in a pocket. This is perfect to carry when packing light.
Glock 42
Glock is synonymous with quality, reliability, and great shooting handguns. With that in mind comes the Glock 42. It’s flat out the pocket carry self defense pistol of choice for many Americans.
Smith and Wesson BodyGuard 38 Revolver
You can call this pocket carry gun one of the most reliable subcompact weapons out there. At only a five shot, it does offer slightly more punch in the 38 special round. The ease of use is that easy. I have a Ruger .380 with some mean looking hollow points. It fits in my pocket, shoots bullets out the front when I pull the trigger, and holds six.

I use the Ruger LCP with a Crimson Trace laser. There is no easier or faster way to get a laser on target.
Went through several, S&W .380 Bodyguard has horrible trigger pull. Currently using a Glock 42. Nice, easy to conceal, reasonable functionality.

All of those are fine.
The old Walther PPK is still a good one. So is the Colt lightweight agent.
For really small, if you can find one the Walther TPH is great.
I mostly carry Glocks but also the Ruger LC9 Pro. The old LC9 had a horrible trigger and had to sell and buy the striker fired version.
I also opted for the Pro since I wanted something with the same manual of arms (trigger safety only) as the Glocks.
No doubt about the Bodyguard’s bad OEM trigger. But I found an excellent aftermarket trigger from gallowayprecision.com and now love it.
My son has a Ruger LC9S Pro and a Ruger LCP. Small and smaller. The LCP 2 looks to have a few nice improvements, though the styling is a bit space age.
KelTec PF9 - Zimmerman special. Pretty sure it’s still the lightest 9mm on the market.
Out of those listed I think I would go with the Sig.
Glock 42? Sounds a bit outdated. I carry a Glock 43 and find it very comfortable. It is only a 5 round mag but if I need more than that I am either vasty outnumbered or need more range time.
I don’t know what that is. I’m not big on shooting. I have several guns, but the only one I use much is the .22 for protecting my chickens. The rest just sit and rust until the collapse...
I probably need to put a few rounds through them just to remember how to pull the trigger correctly.
I have the sig 938. Great gun for CHL.
I had one many years ago. It was basically a smaller simplified 1911. The one I had was fine but I think I would want to test it before buying.
I recently acquired an LCR II. It’s actually fun to shoot and very consistent. It’s probably the sweet trigger for a baby gun.
