An agent of the state, with lethal force that I as a citizen am not allowed to have.

*I* am the one that gets the benefit of the doubt, as are you.

Those ‘real human beings’ at least around here, shoot mentally disturbed people with sticks and kids with BB guns. And dogs. And get off.

If a ‘civilian’ is shot there had BETTER be, and immediately made available, clear camera footage showing that the LOE had NO OTHER option. Otherwise we ‘civilians’ are the ones that pay the price in lawsuits and property destroyed.

The news cycle, and the public’s NEED and RIGHT to know are now, in the 21st century, measured in hours and minutes.

The problem is with the laws that don't allow civilians to do what is necessary.

LEO's and civilians need to be held to the same standards.

No excuses just because they are wearing a uniform.

Any cop who shoots someone without justification ought to be jailed same as anyone else and forfeit all pension and benefits and anything else that came with the job, including any opportunity to serve in that field again.

But people who defend LEO's who are unjustly framed as not jackboot lickers.

You should move to Florida where we have the right to stand our ground and meet force with force, including deadly force, to defend oneself or others or to prevent or stop a forcible felony. I can carry a far more deadly weapon than what patrol officers carry. The difference is that a LEO can stop and detain anyone that he suspects has or is about to commit a crime. That would include misdomeaners.

In Florida assault or battery on a person 65 yoa or older is a forcible felony. That means almost any overt threat to do me harm with the apparent ability to do so can be met with deadly force. That would include your dog.
