Hollywood stars say they strongly oppose the sexual abuse and intimidation of women. Harvey Weinstein is suddenly considered the devil by these actors, actresses, and directors, even though everybody knew exactly who and what he was for years but did nothing to stop him.
Well, this video from back in the day makes crystal clear why that is:
That's John Lovitz grabbing Jamie Lee Curtis' breast on stage. And how did all those Hollywood stars react? They laughed out loud and actually applauded. Yeah, I get that this was "back in the day," but sexual abuse of women and sexual intimidation have never been acceptable by normal people. It says everything we need to know about Hollywood and its horrendous, women-degrading culture that this was not only tolerated publicly years ago but actually celebrated. Is it truly so strange that Harvey Weinstein thought he could get away with abusing actresses all these years?

Sexual harassment and abuse don’t usually take place in front of a television audience. It was obviously a bit, probably agreed to in advance, and Curtis gave back as good as she got.

Maybe she grabbed the other one.

Well, if you are going to grab a breast, one of hers is a pretty good choice. But the right one is a bit bigger.

And she got him right back which shows a woman standing up for herself ... if anyone is going to take it seriously.
obviously doesn't "shows a woman standing up for herself"
just hollyweird's pathetic, bankrupt brand of "humor."
totally boring if your mental age is 8 or above.

Your thinking is what’s wrong in the world. There are no more distinctions, context, nuance. Just everything is wrong including what happened decades ago. We are so lied up and intellectually and comedy constipated we can’t fart without some one calling for an investigation.

I didn’t say it was funny. However, if anyone sees it as a metaphor for abusing women then I was right. And I didn’t say it was a metaphor for abusing women either.

Star laughing in the audience was her father, Tony Curtis.

What is acceptable changes over time, of course. When this was filmed, a little titty squeeze might have got you slapped, but not arrested. On the other hand, back then taking a knee during the playing of the national anthem would have gotten the crap kicked out of you, no matter who you are.

The most disturbing part?
Her dad saw her getting groped, and he laughed about it.
It's a sewer, and they all love living there...
