The Second Amendment is worthy of our defense. It is there to defend us. Don't ever lose sight of that
Before a people are enslaved, before any nation is taken over, they are first disarmed. That’s just history and common sense. From the inside or out, a nation is always first compromised by the removal of its ability to defend itself. Stalin, Hitler, Mao, et al., they all declawed whatever organism that stood in their way - most especially the people they intended to govern.
When Japan was planning to attack our mainland, their Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto purportedly said that attacking America would be like attacking a sleeping giant - and it is commonly claimed that he warned there would be a gun waiting for them ‘behind every blade of grass’ - indeed, a very reasonable statement. I find it fascinating that online liberal ‘fact checking’ sites adamantly insist that the quote is “bogus”. Further, they go on to say that gun rights activists often haul up that quote in order to drive home an argument for gun ownership - as though simply expressing that concept in such a context were evil.
The Second Amendment isn’t going anywhere.
Not this year anyways.
And they think prohibition caused a ruckus!!
A gun waiting for them ‘behind every blade of grass’ but how many of those guns have a snowflake behind them?
Well...Clinton and Obama both hated the Constitution for its limits on executive branch powers, but in eight years each couldn’t achieve anything permanent against the Second Amendment.
People are stirred up now, and realize that America is in three major internal conflicts: clash of civilizations (Islam), culture war (Christianity vs paganism/atheism) and class warfare (the elites vs ordinary folks who own guns).
The next eight years will be very interesting (old Chinese curse) but the outcome is by no means certain for those who would impose totalitarian rule (Muslims, atheists, and the Left).
Yamamoto in the aftermath of Pearl Harbor did say, “I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant, and fill him with a terrible resolve”.
He may or may not have said, “We cannot invade America. There will be a rifle behind every blade of grass”, but Yamamoto would have certainly advised the warlords not to consider invasion, based on his experience with Americans and knowledge of American society.
The second amendment should be safe for the next three-five years at least. I was hoping that in the next three years, we could reinforce well enough to hold for the next 20 years. Maybe we will yet.
