what possible explanation could there be for that sort of discrepancy?
You are assuming that the body cam reflects local time, which sounds reasonable enough; however, the timestamp reflects Greenwich Mean Time (and Date). 10:00 PM Las Vegas time is 5:00 AM (next day) GMT. If you watch the video look for the "Z" at the end of the timestamp. The "Z" stands for Zulu time, which is also GMT.

That’s what I was thinking, as I worked in the “Zulu World” for many years. You’re almost certainly correct, but it’s kind of odd for a local entity to operate in Zulu, isn’t it?

Thank you. Hopefully they will be consistent with that on any future body cam footage.
It makes me what to go back and look at the football player’s body cam footage to see if that has the same type of time/date stamp.
