My DIL is Japanese and before the wedding she made 1001 tiny,shiny gold Origami cranes——which were then strung,with tiny beads,and hung on a tree at the wedding.
Lots of work but quite beautiful.

It must have been her own wedding, to do all that work.
I have a wreath made of these origami cranes. Each crane represents one million chanted Buddhist prayers.
