Cops say inmates escaped jail, robbed store and returned

Authorities in Lexington, Miss., say four inmates were able to escape from Holmes-Humphreys County Correctional Facility — and then sneak back in after robbing a local Dollar General.

These animals obviously feel more at home behind bars. Good.

But I do hope this will prompt some security upgrades to make such behavior impossible in the future. And I also hope it wasn't a guard or the warden who put them up to this stunt...

my guess is the security is lax and they were in for minor offence that meant they would be out in a week or two. there idea being that jail was the perfect alibi.

I have a brother who is a murder. he got caught for shop lifting on purpose so he could claim he did not murder his girlfriend because he was in jail. unfortunately for him and fortunately for society all that did was bring him to the attention of the police. they did not even have to look for him he all ready was in jail when they discovered the body.

If you are going to rob a store, try a more upscale store next time. Like Big Lots! Really, robbing a Dollar General, why not the Dollar Tree?
