Does the saying "Don't Let the Perfect Be the Enemy of the Good" apply? Rand Paul got his straight up ObamaCare repeal voted on. It failed.

Rand Paul is an anarchist who has no place in a sensible debate.

The vast majority of the people who supported him and his crazy father voted for Hellary

Rue Paul should get a banana for saving Obamacare.

Its a binary decision, a-hole. Keep Obamacare or get rid of it. Period.

He is not rejecting an Obamacare repeal. He is rejecting an Obamacare repeal and replace. He is opposed to replacing one disaster with another. What's wrong with that?

Gramnesty is just morphing it to another abomination.

Just repeal the damned thing.

There is no repeal to reject.

YEah, right Randy! If they repeal it, you won’t be out in front anymore.

As we say in engineering...”Better is the enemy of good enough!”

Rand is right. The latest bill is not an Obamacare repeal. It is an attempt by worthless and gutless Rinos to shove the responsibility of repealing Obamacare down the throats of states. Anything dreamed up by Linda Graham can’t be anything but BS. This has nothing whatsoever to do with libertarianism. It’s simply another way the Rinos are trying to avoid their campaign promises without seeming to.

This bill isn't even "the good," as everyone (the establishment) claims.

How typical of the GOP to claim this is "good" for anyone - it's like in the bad old days when the dims ran everything and wanted to tax the rich 75%, then the Bob Michel/Bob Dole GOP held out until the dims agreed to only tax the rich 50% and then agreed, telling the folks back home, that was the best they could do, that "they weren't going to allow the perfect to be the enemy of the good!"

Sad to see the GOP still playing the same old, "play it again Sam," as if we're back in the '70's and 80's.

Rand Paul is the only consistant Republican. You cannot eliminate socialism at home while supporting war and intervention abroad like Lindsey Graham. I am not very enthusuastic about repealing Obamacare while the US military and taxpayers are subsidizing socialism in Europe, Asia and Israel. If the US taxpayer is going to provide a social safety net, I’d rather provide it for fellow Americans than for foreigners.

Last time he said ,”I cannot in good conscience vote for a bailout for insurance companies”. Ok, understandable, even commendable. His time he said, it doesn’t give a bailout but it has other problems blah blah blah. At this point he is not doing this in good faith and may have other reasons for wanting to keep Obamacare. He has had a year, no bills and no closer to getting people on his side

“Does the saying “Don’t Let the Perfect Be the Enemy of the Good” apply? “

Absolutely. Paul has the misguided idea that successive battles will never mean victory, it is always all out war or nothing. That is why he has NEVER won any of his own offered legislation in Congress. To him it is a pleasure just to be a thorn in every one’s side.

Did any of these asshats take an oath to the Constitution?

The fed gov has no business involving themselves in healthcare.

The fact that the Repubikans have funded the unconstitutional monstrosity, Obolacare, for 7 years tells you everything you need to know about how they honor their oaths.

Rand Paul is correct!

Here is why:

"Here’s the problem. There should be no need for waivers from a federal health insurance program because there should be no federal health insurance program."

The Graham-Cassidy Obamacare replacement bill continues a federal health insurance program. There should be no federal health insurance program.

Rand Paul knows this.

Voting for a Graham-Cassidy Obamacare replacement bill is voting for Obamacare-Lite! It is voting for a federal health insurance program. There should be no federal health insurance program.

Here is a real good discussion on this:

"If Graham-Cassidy is federalism, undercooked chicken is medium rare"

Huge numbers of Kentuckians are on this welfare and Paul does not want to be blamed for changing it in any way. He is staunchly pro-Obamacare, because that’s where the votes are. He has zero desire to repeal or to replace or to change it in any way.

Rand Paul is correct!

Here is why:

“Obamacare replacement bill misses on the two most important goals of repeal”

http://thefederalistparty.org/2017/09/16/obamacare-replacement-bill-misses-two-important-goals-repeal/

The Graham-Cassidy Obamacare replacement bill is still federal control over healthcare.

IT IS NOT A REPEAL!

IT IS OBAMACARE-LITE!

Rand Paul might soon go down as the Republican who saved Obamacare — and he couldn’t care less.

This is classic leftist news lede. Wouldn't a more accurate article say something like "Rand Paul believes the American people voted to remove Obamacare from their lives, not change the name to Trumpcare." The Republicans have a rock solid majority in Congress. If they absolutely wanted to pass legislation killing Obamacare they could do it. The obvious reason they don't is that it comes with political costs they don't want to suffer. After all, they are now the opposition (to Trump) party, not the opposition to the Democrats and socialists party like they pretended to be the last 8 years.

If anyone wants to find out where any of the republicans stand on a repeal of Obamacare, all that has to happen is for the GOP leadership to offer up one of the 54 straight up repeal bills that were offered to Obama.

Why doesn’t the GOP do this?

“More than 50 high-profile repeal votes” when Obama was in office?

“Now in total control of Congress and the White House, some GOP legislators are saying that the political assault on Obamacare was an exercise in cynical politics, and that an outright repeal was never on the table.”

“GOP Lawmakers Now Admit Years of Obamacare Repeal Votes Were a Sham”

https://theintercept.com/2017/03/31/repeal-votes-obamacare/

“They may have campaigned that way, they may have voted that way a couple of years ago when it didn’t make any difference,” Brooks continued. “But now that it makes a difference, there seems to not be the majority support that we need to pass legislation that we passed 50 or 60 times over five or six years.”

No, instead, we get OBAMCARE-LITE.

OBAMCARE-LITE
RINOCARE

Graham-Cassidy snowflake replacement bill

WHAT A JOKE!
