I'm a fan of the 1911 (carried one in SEA), but my carry gun now is Browning Hi-Power in 9mm. I can shoot it more accurately, and it holds more rounds.

Take a look at the New CZ P10-C supposed to have best trigger of any striker fired gun you can buy.
Its a 9mm I am weighting for it to come out as a sub compact for carry since its larger than my .45 Glock 30 S.

This is a pistol that will be hard to beat.
