Nothing is safe from someone injecting their politics into it, not even beauty pageants. In the case of this years Miss America contest, contestants were asked to put Trump on the chopping block on subjects like Russian collusion to climate change.
According to the Media Research Center, the Republican bashing began when judge Jordin Sparks hit Miss Missouri, Jennifer Davis, with a question about whether or not Trump was guilty of colluding with Russia. Davis answered the president was innocent, prompting cheers from the crowd.
From the MRC:
Sparks: There are multiple investigations into whether Trumps campaign colluded with Russia on the election. Well, did they? Youre the jury: guilty or innocent and please explain your verdict.
Miss Missouri: Right now I have to say innocent, because not enough information has been revealed. We are still investigating this and I think we should investigate it to its fullest extent. If we do find the evidence that they have had collusion with Russia, the justice system should do their due diligence and they should be punished accordingly.
The political questions kept coming, but most of the contestants took a leftist stance. Miss Texas, Margana Wood, agreed with judge Jess Cagle that Trump should have condemned the white supremacists by name earlier in order to make Americans feel safe. Strangely, there was no mention of radical leftist Antifas violence by either judge, or contestant.
Judge Maria Menounos asked Miss North Dakota, Cara Mund about about whether or not the U.S. pulling out of the Paris Agreement was a solid way to combat man made climate change. Mund, chose to play the church of climate changes organ, and said leaving the treaty was a bad idea.
However Miss New Jersey, Kaitlyn Schoeffel, seemed to also go against the politically correct grain. Upon being asked about whether or not the removal of confederate statues were a good idea by judge Tara Lipinski, Schoeffel took a rather moderate stance:
Lipinski: A recent poll found slightly over half of Americans favored leaving confederate statues in place while others want them removed. Keep them or get rid of them? Whats your vote and why?
Miss New Jersey: I dont think the answer is to get rid of these statues. I think the answer is to relocate them into museums. Because we are truly defined by our countrys history, and I dont think its something we need to forget. We need to always remember it and honor our history of America because it truly makes us who we are as Americans. But they should be moved to museums. Thank you.
Hopefully point scoring is geared more toward how they answered the question, and not what they answered it with. A contestants chances of winning being diminished due to the ideological stances of the judge is completely unfair.
Though it should be said that the winner of the 2017 Miss America pageant was Mund, Miss North Dakota, who promoted statist climate change intervention.
Of course, ideological stances have always dictated a contestants fame or infamy. In 2009, Miss Californias Carrie Prejean stated that while it was great that you can choose what you want to be sexually here in America, she was personally raised with the value of marriage being between a man and a woman.
Judge Perez Hilton, a gay gossip columnist who called Prejean a stupid b**ch in a later video, is thought to have damaged Prejeans chances of winning after that answer.
I’d love to see one of the contestants have enough brains and gumption to say to them: “Hey, I’m a beauty contest partcipant, not a political scientist; what’s your problem?”
American popular culture is a corrupted sewer. NOTHING in it or about it is credible
Obviously the opinion of the contestant in a beauty pageant is more reliable than that of the president of the US. (/major sarcasm)
These judges are idiots for asking such questions and the contestants were stuck, because they knew the kind of answer was expected of them, or else...
‘They’ never rest, ‘they’ never sleep, ‘they’ never give up ....
>>judge Jordin Sparks hit Miss Missouri, Jennifer Davis, with a question about whether or not Trump was guilty of colluding with Russia
That is a statement of “fact” or “fiction”, no in-between. So why ask contestants’ opinions of it when so far investigators working for the losing Democrats have been unable to prove their moonbat conspiracy theory?
They never denounce Communism.
Are the women abuse victims? Or expensive whores?
Well, there's a real intellectual powerhouse.
The Miss America Contest has nothing to do with America or her tradition. Not anymore.
When Leftists and UniParty have taken over our every institution (for decades) it naturally claws its way into cultural events and takes.them.down.
Jordin Sparks is a former American Idol contestant. Enough said.
As if the second question would make you forget about the first one.
Can’t wait for the day when Miss America:
is under 5’5”
is a High School Graduate (only)
does not own a boutique
has a average paying job
respects her parents
wants to get married to a man and have a nice family
goes to church on Sunday
Can’t tell me that there is no such person. I know a few who would put most of these “winners” to shame.
Reminds me of the 1990s when Joe Bob Briggs wrote about how all of the talk show programs were having the other talk show hosts on as guests because they’d run through the list of everyone worth talking with.
With so many awards shows and competitions, it only makes sense for former contestants to become judges.
Am I the only person who does not care what Miss America looks like nor thinks? The same people proffering the questions to the contestants are the people that support same sex marriages and the transgender insanity.
There should be a pageant called Miss Marriage Material.
And Perz Hilton...can't remember if that's a skinny blond that owns a hotel or a fat ass faggot that sticks his nose into every body else's business?
Oh, well, I'm sure they are both well qualified to judge the poise, maturity, and intellectual worth of America's Girls Next Door.
What a crock of do-do.
Anybody that watches this crap is as full of it as the crock is.
Yep, Jordin Sparks, the fat mulatto who won life’s lottery.
liberals took over Miss America decades ago, why would anyone still watch?
The good old days of Bert Parks and Bob Barker hosting the Miss America and Miss USA pageants are long gone. Haven’t watched in ages. Given the judges the winner spouting leftist crap is no surprise.
