Actually it depends on your source and no one really knows. Plutarch blamed Julius Caesar. Edward Gibbons (anti-Christian atheist) blamed Christians as he was wont to do. Bishop Gregory Bar Hebræus (anti-Muslim) blamed the Muslims.

i only see him showing examples of moving some large rocks, not cutting them to perfection with ancient tools, nor creating an actual stonehenge, etc....this explains nothing but one mans ego making use of some shortcuts, etc....try applying this to supposed ‘stupid’ ancient folks who are always depicted as half-ass backwards....

and as elsewhere noted, these blocks they used were not at the corner quarry precut and ready for transport...they were hundreds of mules away...etc...

Homo Sapiens emerged in what is now east Africa, Turkey and Europe between 100,000 and 400,000 years ago and Stonehenge isn’t quite so ancient. If the “ancient stone artifacts” you mentioned are to include Stonehenge then who, other than Homo Sapiens, could have built it...Neandertals?
