Given that Australia shares many similarities of geography and spirit with the USA, how did they go so whacked? They have a sparsely populated country full of wilderness, and nasty critters, and remote agricultural stations far, far from any kind of law. At one time Australians were tough and self-reliant.

...when guns are tightly regulated, criminals find ways around the regulation.Isn't that ALWAYS the case? Many times I find very little difference between a politician and criminal except the criminal tends to be more honest with their intentions. The idiocy over firearms has little to do with safety and security of the people,it's the CONTROL of the people not guns.
