What would you and I do if some group of four women came forward and claimed that on a certain October Friday night, in our Senior year of high school, we took those then-Freshman girls out, got them drunk, raped them, etc.

Accusations are easy. Proof is quite difficult.

They would have to demonstrate beyond a reasonable doubt that what they claim is true. The defendant doesn't have to disprove the claim.

Were we there? Were we somewhere else? Was it our DNA? Were there witnesses? Is there physical evidence?

The problem is, for centuries, rape convictions were sustained on one v. one testimony. no DNA, etc.
