BUNKERVILLE STANDOFF BREAKING: Seven defendants to get update on trial plans Thursday

US District Judge Gloria Navarro has ordered a status hearing for seven Bunkerville Standoff defendants on Thursday including the five Tier 1 key defendants Cliven Bundy, Ammon Bundy, Ryan Bundy, Ryan Payne and Pete Santilli.

It isn't clear what this means yet, but it will be interesting to see what happens following last week's crushing defeat for the federal prosecutors with two defendants found totally not guilty and two others not guilty on most charges.

Eric Parker and Scott Drexler, found not guilty on most charges last week in the April 2014 Bunkerville Standoff near Bundy Ranch, heard Acting US Attorney Steve Myhre tell US District Judge Gloria Navarro last week that he intended to try them a third time on remaining charges.

Those charges (four for Parker, two for Drexler) resulted in a hung jury apparently 11-1 not guilty.

They will join the others in Gloria Navarro's courtroom Thursday morning at 8:30am Las Vegas time (11:30am Eastern with five Tier 1 defendants expected in person and Parker and Drexler expected to be there via telephone.

Supporters are urged to be outside the courthouse in Las Vegas Thursday morning for the hearing.

Some late news about plans for a status hearing in Las Vegas Thursday morning.

What comes next in the Bunkerville Standoff Kangaroo Court?

Good news or bad.

From reports, a nasty little judge. If true, she probably helped their case, with the jury seeing her act like a pompous, arrogant Authority, and disrespectfully so to a witness.

Hard for a jury not to notice abuse of power. It could be them, or their family member next. People don’t like that.

If they have been found not guilty on certain charges, they can not be retried on those charges, right?

Makes no sense to try them on the other charges either.

Her actions speak for themselves plus the prosecutor making the demands of her in the first place to exclude the defendants testimony in his own defense, use of the First and Second Amendment as a defense and on and on.

That prosecutor Steven Myhre was praised for the way he was handling the case by the Attorney General himself, Jeff Sessions.

Sessions applauded Myhre during a visit to Las Vegas last month.

The folks online in Facebook concerned about this case say they have bombarded Washington to protest the way this case is being handled.

Is it bearing fruit? We shall see......

So where is our “southern gentleman stinking POS” Attorney General, Beauregard Turd Blossom Sessions? He’ a disgrace for allowing this to continue. What an effing disgrace we have as AG!

It’s both of them: her and the federal prosecutor, Steve Myhres.

Myhres is now demanding a THIRD trial for the guys he has not been able to convict. It may not be double jeopardy but it’s as close to it as can be. His charges have been nothing but prosecutorial overreach and the juries have not agreed.

At the very minimum the fact that these people - found innocent in Oregon - are not out on bail is appalling.

At one riot the trash that calls themselves ANTIFA does far worse and walks.

Let’s just say that the Bundy’s and their friends are the victims of abject hatred by a gang of anti-Americans who call themselves “the government”, not because we agreed to it, but because they declared it themselves.

“a hung jury apparently 11-1 not guilty”?

The AG should tell the defendants he’s taking his ball and going home.

Is this the same judge from the Oregon trial?

The judge in the Oregon Standoff trials, Anna J. Brown, is moving into Senior Judge status at the US District Court in Oregon as she turns 65 this year.

Brown presided over the first trial where all defendants were not guilty, plus the second rigged trial where she ruled on guilt from the bench on misdemeanor charges tacked onto the felonies.

Some of the post second trial activity for defendants like restitution, probationary sentences etc. being handled by another judge, Robert Jones.

Makes no sense to try them on the other charges either.

The Communist judge, with the power and unlimited funds of our corrupt Government, will re-try these citizens because it will bankrupt them (the citizens) and keep them in jail, thus taking a portion of their lives away.

These Government thugs are trying to project a message to all of us serfs to bow down to them and become their slaves.

Here’s the Judge in the article’s bio from wiki:

“On September 11, 2009, Sen. Harry Reid contacted Navarro to inquire about her interest in serving on the federal bench. After a video conference interview with Reid, the senator told Navarro on September 22, 2009 that he would be recommending her to President Obama for consideration to serve as a judge on the United States District Court for the District of Nevada. On December 24, 2009, Obama formally nominated Navarro to the vacancy”

AG Jeff Sessions' comment regarding this case are the most disturbing things I've seen from him. It makes him look like a total Statist.

Just absolutely shameful. Combine that with some of his other stances on asset forfeiture and federal marijuana law only reinforce this appearance.

AG Sessions just strikes me as completely out of touch.

We'll see what he accomplishes over the next few months on these leaks and Draining the Swamp, but I'm not at all optimistic that it will be anything more than a lot of talk...

“exclude the defendants testimony in his own defense, use of the First and Second Amendment as a defense and on and on.”

How would this ever stand up on appeal? How can they make the argument you cannot testify in your own defense and raise any argument you please? How the hell can government decide what argument you may or may not use?
It might suck as an argument, but you have a natural right to make that argument.

Anything less is full tyranny.

Anything less is full tyranny.

There is a good bit of truth in that statement. The fact that the poor defendants in this particular case are living it, should get the attention of anyone with a love of America. It did not start with Ruby Ridge and WACO, but it certainly didn’t stop there either.

"...they have been found not guilty on certain charges, they can not be retried on those charges, right?"

Right.

"Makes no sense to try them on the other charges either."

Right. The SECOND time they were tried, with a totally rigged trial, the jury voted 11-1 to acquit. How does the prosecutor expect to win a conviction on a retrial? Is he going to import a "judge" from the North Korea? Jurors from the ranks of the homeless? How does this work?

There are some around here that think the Judge threw the trial for the defendants. I am not one of them and it does not explain her harsh sentence already handed out.
