To be fair, we're not just picking on CNN. Almost all of the media have people on the ground (in the water) and are asking Texas residents who've just lost everything rather stupid questions.
It was only a matter of time before a flood victim, witnessing the insensitive rush for ratings, had enough.

Exploiting?
Is that anything like blog pimping?
Not defending CNN, but if the woman was shivering cold and wet, why did she even agree to the interview in the first place, she could have said no if she had such strong feelings. Instead, she stood there waiting for the reporter to end the beginning intro, then criticed the po-lice for not coming after waiting 36 hours and it went south from there.
CNN should offer a blanket
Anything that shows CNN for the crap hole that it is, is fine with me. And FWIW, I doubt you or I would make a “reporter” today because we would size up the situation and realize that it was not a good time to speak with her.
Reporter:
“I see you just climbed out if this burning car crash, how about telling the country how it was trying to get out of being the guest of honor at a weenie roast?”
.@beaumont_police say they were able to save a child, found clinging to her mother in a flooded canal. The mother did not make it. #KHOU11
CNN and EMPATHY are oxymorons.
Most of the reporters ask the most insipid inane questions. They struggle to find something relevant to ask but fail miserably.
Q. How do you feel about losing your home and everything and being at the mercy of the kindness of strangers?
A. I feel bad fool. How you think I feel?
I get all that. Reporters interview the subjects before appearing on camera, the first question is, “do you mind if I ask you a few questions”? which they can accept or decline the interview. Evidently, she accepted, and stood calmly waiting and became more enraged as the interview progressed.
No food for 5 days?
After Ike one of the media types interviewed a family complaining about McDonald’s not being open so she could feed her kids.
One of the locals asked a man from north Texas who came in with his boat why he was there. He just stared a minute and said “it’s the right thing to do. To help people when they need help, that’s what we do.”
I saw that also with a cajin navy guy. The reporter kept pressing the man. It was very awkward. I’d have excused myself and walked away.
