I’ve quit updating anything. I haven’t EVER updated my Windows 7 computer and it works just fine. I think the updating thing is a scam. Messes up your computer and also, without a doubt, adds reams of new data to fill up your hard drive.

Just saying.

Similar with my Win7 laptop and desktop.

Seems like even updating other software creates more problems than the updates resolve.

The Firefox and its various renditions (Palemoon, Cyberfox, Comodo Ice Dragon, Firefox ER) break every time I upgrade the browser or Flash or the extensions. Firefox has turned into a nightmare. Firefox ER will not load images correctly after the last upgrade last week.

Well...when I had Win7 I quit updating it too....but, this is my phone, and it’s a bit different....I try to see what they are updating, but it’s difficult to tell.

I stopped updating several years ago when, after one of their endless updates, the software to my digital camera froze and ceased to function, even after uninstalling and reinstalling. Turns out one of those endless updates blocked various drivers, and to get the items to function again, Microsoft had decided to demand a 'small fee' to unblock it.
