Steve Bannon: The Trump Presidency We Fought For Is Over – They Will Restrain Him.
IWB ^ | Ruby Henley

Posted on 08/19/2017 6:22:26 AM PDT by davikkm

In Steve Bannon’s first interview after he left the White House was with the WEEKLY STANDARD:  http://www.weeklystandard.com/bannon-the-trump-presidency-that-we-fought-for-and-won-is-over./article/2009355

QUOTE:

“The Trump presidency that we fought for, and won, is over,” Bannon said Friday, shortly after confirming his departure. “We still have a huge movement, and we will make something of this Trump presidency. But that presidency is over. It’ll be something else. And there’ll be all kinds of fights, and there’ll be good days and bad days, but that presidency is over.”

“On August 7th , I talked to [Chief of Staff John] Kelly and to the President, and I told them that my resignation would be effective the following Monday, on the 14th,” he said. “I’d always planned on spending one year. General Kelly has brought in a great new system, but I said it would be best. I want to get back to Breitbart.”

“What Trump ran on—border wall, where is the funding for the border wall, one of his central tenets, where have they been? Have they rallied around the Perdue-Cotton immigration bill? On what element of Trump’s program, besides tax cuts—which is going to be the standard marginal tax cut—where have they rallied to Trump’s cause? They haven’t.”

“I think they’re going to try to moderate him,” he says. “I think he’ll sign a clean debt ceiling, I think you’ll see all this stuff. His natural tendency—and I think you saw it this week on Charlottesville—his actual default position is the position of his base, the position that got him elected. I think you’re going to see a lot of constraints on that. I think it’ll be much more conventional.”

I don’t mean to throw cold water, but I worry that including stock market performance on the list of Trump’s achievements could backfire.

It’s not that he doesn’t deserve a lot of credit for boosting confidence, it’s just that the markets can turn on a dime, for any number of reasons, and when that happens, I don’t want to see him get the blame.

There are so many things he has directly accomplished. List those and let the markets speak for themselves.

Just my opinion

Obama got credit for a good stock market. Always a risk, but why not show market enthusiasm?

Where did the data that you posted originate?

I’d like to get the original source so I can use it to argue in favor of President Trump.

If Trump is all that, “they” can’t restrain him.

“. . . I don’t want to see him get the blame.”

Let’s face it, my fellow FReepers: it does not matter what happens; if the LIEberal press deem it a problem of ANY sort, President Trump WILL get the blame.

Likewise, if something good happens because of President Trump’s actions/words/deeds, etc., etc., President Trump will NOT get credit for said action/word/deed!

Somehow, someway, President Trump needs to break the iron-fisted grip that the LIEberal press has on the USA!

Shining the spotlight of truth on those deceitful LIEberal bastards is one way.

Surely, there are others.

Personally, I am boycotting EVERY LIEberal rag, radio station, TV station, publication, business, etc., etc., that I can. (And, I am urging my FRiends, relatives and business associates to do likewise.)

I’ll not see my hard-earned money go to support businesses that are intent on destroying the country I proudly served man and boy, for 28 1/2 years!

We the people need to do our part.

The RINO uniparty hacks have all revealed their true colors.

We are entering the primary season and if we can ‘primary’ a few of these scumbags it really could make a difference.
I am disenheartened about how hard it is to mobilize our side, not Trump.
Their side runs and is powered by emotional fake issues and just plain lies and false narratives.

Substantive issues policies that would really make a difference are harder to agree on and take more effort to educate people and sell and build consensus.
MSM blocks much of it too. Essentially out side needs to be more activist activity involved and willing.
Most of us are like a fish out of water when we try to become politically active.
Sitting on our fat ass behind keyboard won't cut it any more.

Sorry. It’s not an academic paper. If you need that, write it yourself.

We know the stock market is fickle at best - why tie Trump’s political fortune to a measure that is beyond his control?

The deep state can engineer an economic downturn whenever it wants.

Trump is better off touting his many direct and measurable achievements, rather than betting everything on an up market, which can vanish into thin air.

Being scared of what your opponent might do, could do, would do, is how you lose.

Couldn’t agree more.

I don’t know if boycotts will work on the MSM because (as I recently had it explained to me by LS) they are really the propaganda ministry of the DNC and are financed by swamp donors, rather than being dependent on ratings.

The good news is that Trump is on it, and has already wounded the MSM badly, I think. By taunting them, he provokes childish, hateful, reactionary and self-destructive behavior.

He trolls them with just the right bait to trigger automatic adversarial responses which wind up making them look absurd.

I believe Trump has always understood the MSM monopoly must be broken, and he is working psych ops on them every day.

I hope someone (probably Trump himself) is writing it all down because it’s going to make a fascinating book some day.

“Being scared of what your opponent might do, could do, would do, is how you lose.”

I didn’t say anything about what his opponent might do.

I’m saying it’s unwise to take credit for something totally beyond your control - like the weather or the stock market.

Is LS saying that the MSM are not dependent on viewers/readers/advertisers to stay in business? That they receive donations FRom the Swamp Critters to stay in business?

Perhaps President Trump has a solution for this problem as well - in addition to the psych “head game” you point out.

I don’t know what it is our could be, but methinks President Trump has a HUGE ACE up his sleeve! The “head game” is probably part of it, now that you raise the issue.

Consider: President Trump did not survive the rough and tumble environment of multiple successful NYC construction projects and build a world-wide five star hotel chain or initiate any of his other successful ventures and thereby become a billionaire by being naïve or a pushover or a wuss!

IMHO, he’s got this whole thing figured out, and is just waiting to play his Ace and lower the boom on the Soros/Ophonybama/Clinton bought & paid for LIEberal/Socialist/Marxist/Fascist/Communist “Rent-A-Thug” bastards behind these insane, violent and now, deadly “demonstrations!”

“Street theater” is one thing; violent street theater is something else entirely!

And, when he does play his Ace and lower his BOOM on these LIEberal America hating thugs, it will be a big one!

I am saying exactly that. If you could get inside the books of the major “news” companies, they would barely make money, if at all. They are hobby horses for the larger corporations and CEOs to wave their SJW creds around.

In the 1830s, Martin Van Buren, founder of the Democratic Party, created the first true “news” papers. But they didn’t print “news” at all. They were 100% propaganda organs for Andrew Jackson and the DemoKKKrat Party. One academic study concluded that 80% of ALL papers in America were fully owned by one of the parties and made NO money at all on subscriptions.

That’s again where we are. How else do you explain that Fox, which in theory can command HALF the political viewing audience, is moving to the LEFT???? It has nothing to do with revenues, and everything to do with the Murdoch boys’ leftward SJW leanings. See some of the data here:

http://bigleaguepolitics.com/impending-entertainment-news-realignment/

How would you explain CNN, with 100,000 viewers (!!) stays in business? Glenn Beck at his peak had 3.5 MILLION.

So reconsider all (including Fox) of the “news” organizations as propaganda fronts for the DNC ultimately back-channel funded to keep them alive.

"his actual default position is the position of his base, the position that got him elected. I think you’re going to see a lot of constraints on that. I think it’ll be much more conventional."

Time will tell. Trump and his administration should know the base is watching closely.

There is another factor that will be destroying the fake news business at a faster rate, and that is Cable Cutting.

2017 has been a disaster for Pay TV. See the chart below:

The reality is over 1 million pay tv customers have cut their Pay TV cable in the first quarter 0f 2017. People don't use Sling or Direct TV now unless they cut their cable. We cut our Comcast Cable and now use Sling and Amazon Fire TV, as an example. Comcast had two price increases this year and our monthly bill would have been about $275/mo. We watched about 5-6 channels and paid for crap we never used.

A younger relative, who is monitoring this massive swing of cable cutting, estimates over 4 million homes will cut their cable in 2017. He said to calculate the $ loss, the average pay tv that was cut was costing $150 per month to $250. Which is why Comcast and other pay tv providers are increasing their monthly bills so fast.

I posted yesterday, in the past week I had 3 people ask me how to cut their cable and what they needed to buy to get out of their pay tv. All are Comcast customers who got hit with the two price increases this year. They will not be paying Comcast anymore by the end of this month.

So far everyone we know who has cut their Cable are conservatives, They don't watch Faux anymore and had stopped watching ABCNNBCBS's fake news for years with the exception of one couple. They still watch Faux and Faux business. I recommended You Tube tv for them as they live in an area where they can get it. They can get free on Air tv for their kids. They are saving over $150/month after cutting their Comcast cable and going to a local internet service where they live. Their, You tube costs about $40 per month.

Your friend Bannon will probably start a conservative news channel and will stream it. That way, he will not have to deal with the FCC and the left wingers in DC, who hate him.

Any Trump voter/supporter, who doesn't cut their cable and stop watching Faux, is supporting our enemies who want to destroy Trump and then us. Those who won't cut their cable probably subscribe to Newsweek, Slime, Ny Slimes and the Compost.
