Steve Bannon: The Trump Presidency We Fought For Is Over – They Will Restrain Him.
IWB ^ | Ruby Henley

In Steve Bannon’s first interview after he left the White House was with the WEEKLY STANDARD:  http://www.weeklystandard.com/bannon-the-trump-presidency-that-we-fought-for-and-won-is-over./article/2009355

QUOTE:

“The Trump presidency that we fought for, and won, is over,” Bannon said Friday, shortly after confirming his departure. “We still have a huge movement, and we will make something of this Trump presidency. But that presidency is over. It’ll be something else. And there’ll be all kinds of fights, and there’ll be good days and bad days, but that presidency is over.”

“On August 7th , I talked to [Chief of Staff John] Kelly and to the President, and I told them that my resignation would be effective the following Monday, on the 14th,” he said. “I’d always planned on spending one year. General Kelly has brought in a great new system, but I said it would be best. I want to get back to Breitbart.”

“What Trump ran on—border wall, where is the funding for the border wall, one of his central tenets, where have they been? Have they rallied around the Perdue-Cotton immigration bill? On what element of Trump’s program, besides tax cuts—which is going to be the standard marginal tax cut—where have they rallied to Trump’s cause? They haven’t.”

“I think they’re going to try to moderate him,” he says. “I think he’ll sign a clean debt ceiling, I think you’ll see all this stuff. His natural tendency—and I think you saw it this week on Charlottesville—his actual default position is the position of his base, the position that got him elected. I think you’re going to see a lot of constraints on that. I think it’ll be much more conventional.”

They understand that the RNC wants to get along with them, not to defeat them, and that a a consequence they will compromise rather than stand their ground every time.

Incrementalism is how Democrats operate: compromise with progressivism / socialism / commutardism is still progressivism / socialism / commutardism.

This is why, for example, the cultural Marxist have always draped its actions in the mantle of coming to the aid of favored groups rather than coming for people. They act like they are only interested in fairness for poofters or trans or what have you but their real agenda is to use these to undermine the civilization and culture, to weaken it so at some point there can be a power grab. Their indoctrinated minions are so eager to do this they labor on behalf of Islam too since the Muslim Brotherhood was clever enough to come up with the word “Islamophobia”.

Likewise with BLM it is no longer about civil rights but about getting their pound of flesh however they may.

Earlier another forumite posted a link to something by Kipling, about never giving the Dane his Dane-Geld, it goes...

Dane-Geld (by Kipling)

It is always a temptation to an armed and agile nation
To call upon a neighbour and to say: —
“We invaded you last night—we are quite prepared to fight,
Unless you pay us cash to go away.”

And that is called asking for Dane-geld,
And the people who ask it explain
That you’ve only to pay ‘em the Dane-geld
And then you’ll get rid of the Dane!

It is always a temptation for a rich and lazy nation,
To puff and look important and to say: —
“Though we know we should defeat you, we have not the time to meet you.
We will therefore pay you cash to go away.”

And that is called paying the Dane-geld;
But we’ve proved it again and again,
That if once you have paid him the Dane-geld
You never get rid of the Dane.

It is wrong to put temptation in the path of any nation,
For fear they should succumb and go astray;
So when you are requested to pay up or be molested,
You will find it better policy to say: —

“We never pay any-one Dane-geld,
No matter how trifling the cost;
For the end of that game is oppression and shame,
And the nation that pays it is lost!”

THIS should apply to everything cultural Marxist say they want. No matter how trivial it may seem refuse them. And also withdraw and “Dane-Geld” you may have been convinced to offer in the past.

It is better for them to say you are a bad person and try to shame you than to go along with them on anything. Better. Their condemnation than the loss of the society and nation.

Worth paying attention to how Bannon is positioning Trump here. Trump gets a win? He beat the establishment. Trump loses a fight? Establishments fault.

I wonder why Steve Bannon would do a sit down interview with “Never Trump” publication Weekly Standard.

Anyone?

Anyone who goes to Washington no matter how they are when we elect them, change quickly into their peers. I am not sure exactly how it is done, but it is disgraceful. Fear? Bribery?

Think of who goes to DC. Almost all are people who had to do deals with unsavories just to get their local elected jobs already. Why are they so motivated to compromise integrity? The number one motivation is greed. They want money and or power. If you can make unsavory deals to get elected dogcatcher or city manager or state rep, you can slowly get yourself rich without ever breaking a sweat. If they want power, it is often simply to feel superior and to have women desire them (they don’t care about why). Often these men (or women) come primed with an insecurity from childhood, a tremendous emotional hole to fill, and having people applaud, having sexual offers from the opposite sex (or the same sex), fills the void for a short time. Finally getting elected to a DC office is like finally switching to the needle from Vicodin.

The biggest thing he will do is reshape the SCOTUS.

That will eventually end Obamacare and many other evil things.

IMO, stopping Trump is a bit like trying to stop the ocean from reaching the beach.

“As of today, President Trump decreased the US Debt since his inauguration by (-$102) Billion.”

Really? This defies common sense. You have to know that is not true.

From the US Treasury

Jan- $51 billion monthly surplus
Feb- $192 billion monthly deficit
March- $176 billion monthly deficit
April- $182 billion monthly surplus
May- $88 billion monthly deficit
June- $90 billion monthly deficit
Jan 1st thru June 30th: $313 billion deficit

$313 billion dollars have been added to the national debt in 6 months of this year. The government is “temporarily” borrowing from federal government pensions because of the debt limit. Once the debt limit is raised, the pension money is restored and the government issues bonds/notes.

I believe that he means that, because of the feckless GOPe and other entities, Trump doesn't have the support that those in the Congress promised to get their own sorry asses elected. We presumed that with all their promises/posturing, they would take advantage of having both Houses and the WH.

Bannon is saying that we have been betrayed after going through the process of electing Trump and handing him both Houses - not that Trump is changing his agenda.

Great post! Thanks!

Did you gather the data FRom several sources, or is it available in one place on the internet?

I’d like to use this data, and the source would be most helpful.
