Like they say, when it rains it pours.
Had to retire this year because of a recurring injury. Now I've had to spend over $1200 in the last week for surgeries on both my cats. Louie had to have 5 rotten teeth extracted and Snooki developed a wound abscess after Louie bit her.
Looks likes it time to take out health insurance for my furbabies. Mom has to rely on Cobra til Medicare kicks in. Another headache but oh, well:)
Spent close to $3K on one cat back in 2005. She was a young cat a crazy neighbor tried to kill with his truck. Tremendous suffering and guilt and still had to have her put down. I will not spend money on heroics, though. And it’s not the expense. Eventually you realize the animal’s life is all about pain and you have to do the right thing by them.
Thanks.
Bless you.
I’ll pray for you, too. How’s that;)
Knock yourself out. I’ll pray harder, you’re in desperate need of common sense. And you haven’t answered my question.
Hang in there CatMom and try to make Louie behave.
I hope your cats get better.
That’s actually the second time he’s done that!
He bit my old kitty a few years ago and she ended up with an abscess that could have killed her.
I’ve thought about finding another home for him. He loves people but he loves his home more. At eleven, I think he would be heartbroken to be given away.
What to do...
Thank you.
Prayer sent north.
Thanks. We all need them!
Praying for your precious kitties. I have a beautiful Maine Coon cat and 3 dogs and they are my family.
Prayers for you and your cats.
Prayers sent that your pets stay safe and healthy.
Thank you.
We’ve been married 38 years and have had cats since day 1. The first family of cats had one live to 24 another to 22 and one to 18. Two others met their end at around 9 years. All of them were, and are, special to us.
Our oldest in our second group is now 16, and except for chronic IBS is in perfect health—never had a single bad tooth—our only cat of both families to ever be that lucky. We’ve spent a fortune over the years—probably in excess of $20,000 trying to keep them healthy and happy. We were $5,000 into chemo treatments for our beloved Freddie when we could see he wasn’t going to make it so we stopped and put him down when he got too miserable. Hardest thing we ever had to do.
Take your kitties in for regular checkups and just love ‘em like there’s no tomorrow.
It must be heaven to be one of your kitties.
That’s why they live so long.
Thanks so much:)
You’re really pulling for douche of the evening award aren’t you?
Is that how they came up with the name Summer’s Eve?
