North Korea is within several hundred miles of 3 of the largest metropolitan capitals in the world. You can’t just carpet bomb the place with tactical nukes. I’m not sure if that’s what you were suggesting, but I’m not sure how else you wipe 45000 square miles off the map
It doesn’t need to be wiped off the map. Sub launched cruise missles could take out a sizable fraction of the artillery aimed at Seoul. Start evacuating Seoul now and in 12 hours take out a sizable fraction of that artillery and wait 5 minutes for Kim’s reaction. If he surrenders, great. If he makes ONE aggressive response turn North Korea into a gravel pit. 30 minutes and it’s over.
Alternatively, if you want to demonstrate patience, cut off ALL trade with China. Results would take longer than 30 minutes but I suspect China would invade North Korea and end this within the week.
Last night there was a Chinese article that was surprising. They seemed to be acknowledging that North Korea exists because of mistake they made 70 years ago “that foolishly cost hundreds of thousands of Chinese soldiers”. If this is true, the Chinese may be about to step up and end this puppet regime after all these decades.
In any case, the stalemate on the Korean Peninsula is over soon, one way or another.
So we should let them bomb Los Angeles or New York because you are worried about 3 population centers hundreds of miles away?
Got it, other countries first, America last.
Eh. It’s easy to call for the jingoistic immolation of millions from a keyboard thousands of miles away.
