A Gastronomic Asian Feast At London's Hot New Restaurant P. F. Chang's

The food and drink are on another level, from the signature drink, Fizu, upon arrival (sparkling sake, cucumber, and lemon oil), to my personal favourite, the Original Chang’s Chicken Lettuce Wraps and Dynamite Shrimp. It is a little spicy but maintains a perfect balance. I also had the zingy Orange Peel Lamb Chop. There is a great dessert selection for those with a sweet tooth like myself. The Gorgonzola Cheesecake is topped with sour cream and gorgonzola crumb which gives it a slight tang but is nicely balanced out with candied walnuts and a delicious mascarpone filled port poached pear. Even the Taste of Asia ice cream plate is special with a selection of saffron and rose water, yoghurt and wasabi ripple, and coconut ash ice cream.

Awful food. Ate there only once.
I honestly would be embarrassed to be seen eating there again.

I agree— it is kind of fun to see the enthusiasm for the Americanized PF Changs. My first thought was: I guess that means they will soon be getting a Cheesecake Factory next door!! Between the two, PF Changs wins every time. It also reminded me of an excited conversation I overheard on a train into London. It was the early 2000s and this group of young couples couldn’t wait to go eat at KFC!!

I gave up trying to find “real” Asian food on travels in the US.

The secret to "American cuisine" is abundance, especially when it comes to meat. We have high quality ingredients and we add protein. I like most Asian food whether eaten here or there, but having had enough of chicken heads and chicken feat and sodden, soggy, unidentifiable green things that were supposed to be vegetables in northeastern China, I'm a bit less into "authenticity" than you are. IMHO, we do to food what we do to words: we adopt the best from the rest of the world and perfect it. The French have been mispronouncing words and names for centuries (e.g. Versailles, Vincennes, Orleans, etc.) and it took Anglophones to straighten it out. Let's hear it for cultural appropriation!

A Polish Mexican restaurant? The Poles make great sweets, it the food is bland (but great), Mexican is spicy, so will it have spicy sweets?

Yea,it was founded by a French Canadian. We were told that workers at the nearby Mexican embassy asked if he could make Mexican food. You can google to see the sign.

I like their pork potstickers and pork fried rice. For the longest time, their frozen entrees had no pork so I never tried them. I noticed now that they have new frozen pork potstickers so i’ll have to find them.

We took my nephew to a PF Chang’s when he was about 3 years old. Don’t recall what we ordered, but he was so put off by the smell of it, he won’t go near ANY Chinese restaurant 15 years later.

No thanks. PF Chang’s is to Chinese food what Chipotle Grill is to Mexican food! Might as well open a can of “Chung King” Chicken Chop Suey.

“P.F Chang’s sucks balls. Overpriced crap compared to good Chinese cuisine.”

I’ll go with that. My favorite restaurant is near PF Chang’s. Comparing both there is simply no comparison. PFC is starchy garbage.
