Well, I hear you, but unskilled free citizens vote, speak, worship, assemble and make up the great fabric of this nation, even if it is frayed these days.

How many accidental/negligent discharges have there been there? How many killed/hurt?

You do you drive on public thoroughfares?

Perhaps the RSO could be approached and safety practices reinforced?

While I understand the intent of your argument...

- A license is required to operate vehicles on public thoroughfares, complete with written and practical tests, as well as enforcement of safety violations (tickets)

- There have been numerous accidents, both involving injury and death at gun ranges in the US, both public and private. Google if you have a strong stomach, many involve kids and other small stature individuals being given high powered or difficult to control weapons.

- This is a state public range. There are no range officers.

- Someone casting a bad vote, or saying something dumb, doesn’t pose the same immediate threat to myself or my family as someone mishandling a firearm.

Again, I’m all for free exercise of the 2nd amendment, but I don’t want to give the left more grounds to attempt infringement of those rights. Surely we can agree a trained and safe firearm owner is better for all involved.
