Many American journalists and others correctly objected to President Trump's lambasting of the U.S. media in his speech Thursday in Poland, noting that his words were damaging to our international status and democracies around the world.
Richard Haass, president of the Council on Foreign Relations, tweeted that Trump "dilutes respect for American democracy & gives license to autocrats to crack down on their own media." Haass also was critical of Trump's denigrating of the U.S. intelligence community.
How dare the president diminish his country's revered institutions (please, hold your laughter until the end) while abroad? Clearly, the man is a bitter, narcissistic autocrat, one would have been justified in thinking.
Then Friday, as the world turned toward the much-anticipated meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Trump, it seemed the media were, without much self-awareness, committing the same sins for which they'd blasted Trump - basically undermining the president on foreign soil.
There was no mistaking a negative trend among commentators as they imagined what might transpire between the two world leaders. If the media weren't consciously trying to undercut the president's authority while he was overseas, then unconsciously, they were doing a pretty good job.
No wonder Trump voters hate us.....

Yes.
They didn't seemed too concerned when Obama took every chance he got to bash the US when he was abroad ( and is still doing it )
it’s a hit piece
“All of a sudden Kathleen is worried about the president. Is she privy to the real polls?”
Actually it seems she’s more worried about her and her associates: “No wonder Trump voters hate us.....”
Did Trump lambast the press in his speech? I don’t remember that part. I remember his briefing with the press where he stomped on CNN with a parting shot at NBC.
Dude you’re slipping again with your threads. Lots of garbage articles coming from thataways. Just sayin...
I think it was Ms. Parker who hoped he would fail.
Her last sentence reflects the horror that is dawning on the elites: Trump is very effective and popular and will have no difficulty winning a 2nd term, holding control of Congress, reshaping the Supreme Court, and setting the stage for Pence.
They, who are losing at every turn, have nothing but the growing awareness they are outnumbered and outvoted.
I don’t recall him saying anything about the press in his speech. The press issue was brought up at the press conference.

Amen! Amen! AMEN!
4-8-12-16! Let’s RIGHT this ship! Wheee!
I saw in a different thread how Hillary is going to inject herself into the mid-term elections, citing data where she ‘won’ congressional districts now held by Republicans. Her thinking, she can make a difference in these races. But, I believe that the world will be a different place in 2018. The Democrats (and the media, but I repeat myself), painted Trump as a whack job, a loose cannon, and incompetent to be president. Many voters may have bought that in 2016, but by 2018, they will realize that those characterizations were completely unfounded. Hillary is fighting battles from the last war. As in everything else she has ever done, she will fail in this effort also.
The MSM thinks the MSM is the most important topic in the universe, as usual.
DJT is moving on. They can hope, or dream, or fantasize, whatever they like. Not too many care, outside their little circle-jerk community.
Bottom line, yeah. They're so desperately hoping he'll fail, they'll jump at the most trivial mole hill and build it up into Mt. Everest.
I answer to one person here and you ain’t him. You’re his guest, just like I am.

I keep telling tantruming Dems on the internet that they will never beat Trump in the rust best with red scares and identity politics but they won’t listen. They are still 100% totally deranged with a few exceptions.
Stopped reading after 6 words.

Nope. The Dems are still hysterically pushing the “Trump is incompetent” meme. They still don’t get why he beat the snot out of them in the electoral college.
Oh, I did not say that the Democrats wouldn’t TRY to go all “Trump is incompetent”. I said that voters just won’t be willing to buy into that way of thinking. Trump was an unknown commodity in 2016. Won’t be true in 2018.
Just remember how much crap we had to put up with in the Obamanation and how depressing it was to see him taking the country in the completely wrong direction...that makes this all the sweeter. And honestly, I did not think we would see it happen, because I figured that a Jeb Bush or some other elitist tool would get the nomination, and even if he beat Hillary it wouldn’t be much different.
That was until Donald Trump refused to promise to support whichever candidate won. That’s when I started to have hope...
Understood.
