Standard operating procedure for good priests. At very least, a way to get the Communion when they are able to receive it.

The sacrament of Anointing of the Sick would be fine for him; this sacrament brings healing and does not necessarily indicate a dire situation as it used to.
I will be praying for healing for Senator Scalise at the noon Latin Mass today.

Hopefully not Last Rites.The Bible tells us to pray continually. It should not be cause for alarm to read that someone is praying for a sick person, even if it is a priest or pastor.

The Anointing of the Sick is for everyone. Not necessarily for those on the deathbeds.
I’ve received it several times when I was going into surgery.
