A high-ranking Justice Department official believes Special Counsel Robert Mueller has granted a complete get-out-of-jail-free-card deal for disgraced FBI Director James Comey: A coveted immunity deal in exchange for cooperating as a key witness.
“The immunity is a done deal,” a Justice Department source said. “Mueller can do whatever he wants. We (Justice) have no say but after many years working criminal cases I know Comey has been given immunity. You can tell by the way he is acting now and the fact that Mueller has kept us in the dark about his investigation.”

Informal immunity - in other words non-statutory. There is no time constraint or other emergency, the investigation has barely begun. Comey is not a low level employee, he is the Director. I think in such cases statutory immunity is what is sought, or if not then the informal immunity must be approved by the AG.
I suspect this “unnamed source” is just fake news.
The guy who wrote this law says trump can fire mueller..or direct rosenstein to do it.
Rosenstein has said he won’t do it on his own as there is no cause.
So Trump will own this decision.

That may be right about the fake news. It sounds like just speculation.
Thing about it is, I would bet Rosenstein would grant whatever Mueller asked for and the rest of the DOJ is still 99.9% Obama so if they needed someone else’s approval on something to help the Special Counsel take down Trump, I’m sure they could easily get it.
Mueller is after Trump. Apparently Trump does not realise this.
Time to bring in a special investigator to investigate Mueller and any crimes he may be committing. Any immunity deals he makes in the commission of a crime would then be null and void.

If this is true, then Mueller needs to arrest for treason. Given a military trial and then punished. The legal system cannot be allowed to be used as a mechanism overthrow the government.

Very good idea.
I do think Mueller gave Comey complete immunity. It accounts for Comey’s near glee when reporting what he did.
I understand how investigations can take n a life of their own, but it would also make sense that any immunity would be restricted to the Special Prosecutors scope of investigation, which I believe is the Russia angle, isn’t it?
They really need Guilani to come clean out the whole DOJ, and quickly. I can think of no better qualified and honest person than him.

Rosenstein, or whatever his name is, needs to be asked point blank: Did you or Mueller grant Comey immunity, yes or no.
