Only if Comey directed his associates to speak to the Times about the conversation with the President. At this time there is no indication that he did.

Comey said he leaked the memo in response to the "tapes" tweet. President Trump wrote the "tapes" tweet on May 12. The first time the New York Times wrote about the leaked Comey memo was May 16. Comey's timeline is still intact. OANN confused the May 11 article -- which didn't report on the leaked memo -- with the May 16 article that did.
It isn't that difficult to see where OANN screwed up.

There is absolutely no evidence that this statement is true. President Trump's "tapes" tweet appeared on May 12. The existence of the Comey memo was first mentioned in a May 16 article in the New York Times.

It's also likely that Trump already knew that Comey was the source of the leak on the 11th, which is why he tweeted what he tweeted on the 12th.
Comey is a liar, as he has shown on numerous occasions. This time, his lies may have actually broken the law.

The evidence is Comey's own admission that he leaked his memos for his own personal gain. So we know he is/was quite capable of it, had the material, had the motive, and had the opportunity. As the old joke goes: we already know what he is. Now all we're doing is haggling about when he became one.

I'll take this as a concession that there is no evidence that the NYT article of May 11 was based on the leaked memo. It's just that you aren't smart enough to fully understand the implications of what you write.

If one of the two alleged "associates" in the May 11th story is his "associate" at Columbia, or if the NYT claim that two "associates" are only really one "associate" the case on Comey's perjury is closed.
