Had a mattress topper of Memory foam. Made my back hurt terribly................

I have a Serta 2-1 pillow with 1/3rd memory foam and the other side poly fill.
I took out the memory form and added a pillow protector and a pillow case and the memory form is just the right height for me. I have tried others but they are always too thick.

May be the same but different color foam
