President Uhuru Kenyatta on Friday, May 26, met US President Donald Trump for the first time since the latter was elected President of the most powerful country in the world, in Taormina, Italy.
President Kenyatta, in the company of several other world leaders, lined up at the steps of the summit hall to greet Trump and his wife Melania aka FLOTUS.
After a warm hand shake between Uhuru and Trump, the two leaders had a briefly extended conversation.
Uhuru becomes the first sitting Kenyan president to meet two sitting US presidents in his tenure after hosting Barrack Obama in Kenya back in 2015.
Soon after photos of Uhuru and Trump hit the web, Kenyans could not hide their excitement, they took turns on social media to share their sentiments on the historic encounter.
Some warned Uhuru to be careful of Trumps tight grip during handshakes while others thought Melania has a crush on Kenyas most powerful person. Theres one who wondered why Uganda and Tanzania presidents are never invited to the G7 meetings....
