As his White House continued to struggle to get its story straight regarding the firing of FBI Director James Comey and the unwanted photo-op of the president and Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak on Wednesday, Donald Trump took time out to troll longtime nemesis Rosie O'Donnell.
On Thursday afternoon, Trump retweeted a two-word tweet the actress sent in December 2016 that read: "FIRE COMEY." He added this comment: "We finally agree on something Rosie."
Reminder: Donald Trump is the president of the United States, the head of the US military and, arguably, the single most powerful person in the world.
O'Donnell and Trump have a loooooong history -- dating all the way back to 2006. Trump refused to de-crown (not sure that's a word) Miss USA Tara Conner after reports of her past alcohol and drug use surfaced. O'Donnell, at the time a co-host of "The View," blasted Trump the following day -- calling him "a snake-oil salesman on Little House On The Prairie" among many other things.
O'Donnell -- and Trump's comments about her -- came up several times in the course of the 2016 campaign.
At a primary debate in August 2015, then Fox News host Megyn Kelly asked Trump about his past comments about women. Here's the exchange:
KELLY: "You've called women fat pigs, dogs, slobs, disgusting animals. Your Twitter account has several --"
TRUMP [raising finger]: "Only Rosie O'Donnell."(continued)

She has been given a megaphone by the media to attack Trump — it then becomes a national news item — which she does routinely. If she wants to make herself a player, then let her bear the consequences.

I have noticed that the “beneath the office” slur on Trump is the tactic of the week.
Struggle? Comey served at the pleasure of the President. He was a holdover from Obama and should have been gone on January 20th.
The ‘Rats don’t think any Republican has the right to defend themselves in public. They love the old fashioned Pubbies, like GW Bush, who never responded to any of their despicable attacks.
